SpaceX started with rockets. Then, as a side hustle, created an internet provider. Not a small one either. Starlink. 12 million customers. 160+ countries. The telecom industry spent decades building networks. At some point, this "side hustle" became one of the largest internet providers on Earth. That's a surprisingly...

SpaceX just pulled in $14.6 BILLION in three months. That's a hell of a quarter. Revenue jumped 161% in a year, and Starship has now started earning its keep. Its first commercial mission delivered 26 Starlink V3 satellites into orbit, adding roughly 10X the downlink capacity of a Falcon 9 Starlink launch. Meanwhile, Starlink has grown to 13.6 million subscribers across 174 countries. More people connecting, more satellites going up, and bigger rockets doing the heavy lifting. Building your own rockets to deliver your own internet is a pretty powerful business model. SpaceX Starlink / Writer: Annette, Designer: Janné

🇺🇸 SpaceX just launched a Falcon 9 from California carrying 25 more Starlink satellites to expand its internet network. Another step in building out global coverage from low Earth orbit. At this point, it’s basically just another day at the launch pad. Source: SpaceX , Starlink

SpaceX is becoming one of the biggest solar-power operators in space. Gen 1 Starlink: ~10 MW in orbit. Gen 2: ~100 MW. Gen 3: targeting ~1,000 MW. That's roughly a 10x jump every satellite generation. Most people think of Starlink as an internet network. Meanwhile, thousands of satellites are turning orbit into a rapidly growing solar-power grid. SpaceX Starlink

Greece is quietly becoming the Balkans’ internet gateway. 40 Starlink dishes. Remote-operated. Southeastern Europe plugged straight into orbit. Meanwhile, the cable guys are still scheduling “future expansion discussions.” Starlink treated southeastern Europe like a software update. Turns out rockets are surprisingly good at fixing internet problems. Starlink

A small rooftop satellite dish could soon make a huge difference in rural India. Starlink spent over 5 years working with regulators, building local gateways and getting the infrastructure ready. That's a lot of effort behind the scenes. India has plenty of places where decent internet is still a struggle. Remote villages, mountain communities and areas miles away from the nearest fibre connection. Once Starlink goes live, those people, schools and businesses will have a whole new way to connect. Starlink is ready to connect India to space. Starlink SpaceX / Writer: Annette, Designer: Janné

The telecom industry is realizing Starlink is becoming the global network infrastructure. SpaceX now has multi-year direct-to-cell agreements with 30+ mobile carriers across 6 continents. Not handshake hype deals. Actual infrastructure contracts locking in recurring revenue. That’s the important shift here. Telecom companies stopped treating Starlink like a weird space experiment. Now they’re plugging their networks into it. SpaceX, the rocket company, is becoming the communications layer itself. Starlink

The FCC reiterated that Starlink isn’t qualified to deliver internet this summer. This month the FCC sounds the alarm that Starlink has a monopoly on satellite internet.

STARLINK IS RUNNING EARTH’S LARGEST SERVER… IN ORBIT While everyone else is bragging about data centers on the ground, SpaceX quietly put 9,000 solar-powered computers in space and called it a constellation! Orbital Math: • Starlink sits at over 9,000+ active satellites after the latest batch • The entire rest of Earth manages roughly 3,000 to 4,000 combined • Each Starlink unit is a solar-powered network node with onboard compute • SpaceX now operates around 75 % of all active satellites in orbit At this rate Earth’s “space industry” is basically Starlink plus supporting characters! Starlink vs. Regular In-Flight WiFi I tested in-flight WiFi on two airlines in the last 24 hours. Qatar Airways (Starlink): 165 Mbps American Airlines ( No Starlink): 30 Mbps The difference was not just speed. Starlink felt like home internet in the sky - fast, stable, and usable throughout the journey. The other one had poor speeds, frequent disconnections, and dead zones. At this point, it’s a no-brainer: Every airline needs Starlink.
