Multiple agents sound simple until you hit the plumbing. Debugging my own pipeline taught me files can't move across separate agent contexts, no shared backend, and that stateless LLM calls can still have state persisted and passed between agents. That breaks a lot of setups.

The chief of staff agent is the interesting bit. Once you pass 5 or so bots the routing layer matters more than any single agent's prompt. I've had the best luck giving that one a written org chart it can read every run.
