These guys sold their house in Catalonia 🇪🇸 and moved permanently to Paraguay 🇵🇾 I just came back from a road trip with Destino Paraguay, a Spanish/Argentinian couple who were living in Catalonia and decided to get the f*ck out of there You have NO IDEA how many Spaniards are moving to other countries, particularly Catalans and Andalusians Foreigners always talk about how nice those two regions are, but it’s only because of two reasons: - They didn’t see them 10 years ago, so they’re not aware of the decline - They have unlimited money compared to the natives, so they’re protected from the worst changes

This is Kenyan President William Ruto boasting that Kenyans speak better English than Nigerians 🤣🤣🤣 He is confusing accent with diction. When African presidents boast that their citizens speak “better English” than others, they are not demonstrating a strong education system, as Ruto claims, they are showcasing a deep inferiority complex rooted in colonial conditioning. English is a colonial language, not a measure of intelligence, capability, or national progress. You can be fully fluent in a language and still have an accent that is difficult for some listeners to understand, as Nigerians do. Fluency means you have a strong command of vocabulary, grammar, and the ability to express ideas. Accent, on the other hand, relates to pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation, which are shaped by your first language and speech environment, which is what Ruto is confusing with good English. Has he ever had someone from Scotland, Liverpool, or Birmingham speak? Accents are a natural linguistic outcome, not a measure of education. They emerge from the influence of a person’s first language, the sounds and speech patterns they grow up with, and the environment in which they learn and use another language. Every language has its own phonetic structure, and when people speak a second language like English, those underlying patterns shape pronunciation, rhythm, and tone. That is why accents vary across regions and countries. They reflect history, identity, and exposure, not intellectual or educational superiority. I know that there is some kind of tension between Nigeria and Kenya, but such misleading statements undermine the confidence of young people. When they hear a president speak like that about how they speak, it erodes their self-belief, and that is not a good thing to come from a president.

Hispanics went from about 57% to 70%. Spanish at home rose from 59% to 67%. English-only households are down to roughly one in four. Across the metro, the White share fell from about 44% to 28%. A parent was already saying this on Donahue in 2003. The county just finished proving her right.

Grok in Tesla does English-Spanish translation with a couple of Uber passengers. I love Grok in Tesla! This is now one of the best parts of owning my Tesla. My car not only talks with me, but it talks to my Uber customers as well, in their own mother language. There are still a few quirks with Grok in Tesla, possibly due to there being no microphone for passengers in the back seat, so Grok may cut off and interrupt passengers mid-sentence sometimes, but I have noticed that even this is getting better week-to-week. But overall, Grok in Tesla is an absolute game changer and is making new fans of Tesla from people that have never been in one until getting into the back of mine.

As a scientist and educator, I've always believed that the best scientific and health information should be accessible to everyone—not just English speakers. That's why I'm excited to share that we're working with to begin exploring dubbing of Huberman Lab content, starting with Hindi and Spanish. While I only speak English (and very questionable Spanish), these localized versions will maintain my natural speaking style and voice characteristics, making the content feel authentic and personal. While we're in the very early stages, this is an important first step toward our goal of reaching people in their native languages. And you take as the representative standard of all that a few nutcases — one with the name “Munib” on his back, which already gives a clue… — desecrating the Israeli flag? Two days in which Spain has poured into the streets, and the only incidents have been staged by radical Basque and Catalan separatists, two of the biggest hubs of anti-Israelism in the entire world, cradles of the pro-Hamas flotillas, with Hezbollah members embedded in their ranks… verbally and physically attacking Spanish fans. Spaniards are very far removed from their government. Sánchez shows up in a football stadium in Spain, in the World Cup final itself, and the crowd chants “son of a bitch” at him in unison. The radically anti-Israeli stance of the current Government does not reflect the majority sentiment of Spanish society. It is an ideological agenda and a smokescreen. Within a foreseeable timeframe Spain can have a government favourable to Israel. DON’T TELL US HOW TO SPEAK! Just as any two living creatures have a common ancestor in the tree of life, so any two languages have a common tongue from which they ultimately derived. Scientists currently believe that the world’s 6,000 modern languages, from English to Mandarin, can all be traced back to a ‘mother tongue’ - an ancestral language spoken in Africa 50,000 to 70,000 years ago. Differently put: all languages are descended from primordial African! This makes it all the more galling that Africans who visit, work or live outside of the continent are often taunted and laughed at because sometimes they don’t pronounce English words ‘properly’ - even though these words are ‘deviations’ (however far removed) from African-language words. The continent’s turbulent history of colonisation is the reason for the use of European languages in African schools, commerce and governments today. However, something that is overlooked is that most Africans are accustomed to speaking multiple languages, perhaps three or more, throughout the course of a single day. That’s one reason Africans pronounce certain words with an accent - they can speak other languages fluently enough for those languages to interfere with their English. The baphomet moth, the moth that crawled out of hell It's a disturbing red tiger moth from australia that has inflatable tentacles coming out of it's abdomen, the male is the only one to have these tentacles and theyre called "coremata". The hair on them spreads pheromones and helps moths find each other It fascinates me how it's able to just inflate it's coremata at will, they can fully retract them into it's body when they don't need it out Not even moths are safe from australia's curse that turn bugs creepy and huge, australia truly is a fascinating place

Reports (and the videos themselves) suggest these aren’t poor refugees, but fighting age men. Many are leaving Morocco because of crimes they committed there. Keep in mind, this is taking place in Ceuta. Not mainland Spain. Ceuta is a Spanish enclave whose population regularly reasserts they want to remain Spanish, not Moroccan. Morocco is intentionally sending their most violent individuals to kill the Spanish “imperialists” (ironic coming from Muslims). We’ve known the entire time that this is a third world Islamic invasion, not a refugee crisis. But please take the word “invasion” completely literally. It’s not political rhetoric. Morocco knows exactly what they’ve just done. They just declared war on Europe in a very literal sense. Of course, neither Spain nor the EU will treat it that way, but they should.

Farmers in Punjab are pumping so much water out of the ground that the state will run out of water for agriculture in a decade's time. Since they waste so much water growing rice, the remainder isn't sufficient to dilute the toxins from fertilizers. The land is becoming so bad in quality that no one wants to use it even for construction. They don't want to switch to other crops since rice has MSP. They're using 50% more water than what the land gets. This is causing mass exodus of rural Sikhs to other countries like Canada, Australia and Italy. Namibia has just 3 million people. More than half of them are living in multidimensional poverty. The capital(Windhoek) is littered with shanties with child poverty everywhere. Namibia can not even measure up to Abia State (one of the most underdeveloped states in Nigeria). Yet, some idiots calling themselves Nigerians are encouraging insults from a tiny country like Namibia that Nigeria has been giving aids to since their creation because they don't like the president.

Americans who justify their obsession with Israel on the fact that we give it more "aid" (it's not actually aid) than we give any other country are dumbstruck when you follow up with, "then why are so many other countries, that don't give a single cent to Israel & are not even on the same continent, also microscopically & singularly focused on the one Jewish state?" The truth is, the $3.8 billion yearly American military credit package to Israel has a return of investment upwards of 150%. And it boosts our economy, keeping us on the cutting edge of defense technology and highly competititve in the global arena.
