I think I was a little bit, half a tenth quicker or something like that. But, for some reason, we went into that last lap and as I started, came round the last corner, I had understeer and I was like ‘maybe these front tyres are not switched on,’ [but] just turned out I just had more rear and more understeer through the lap.”

If I paid $51000 for a car and the dealer already cashed the check and had it in the bank for 11 days, I better already have my car. Unlike this dealership who kept pushing back the delivery date and eventually refused to give this gentleman his car he already paid for. To me it sounds like they sold it before he picked it up. I remember during the hurricane Katrina days and I left the insurance office to clear my wind. I just got off a difficult call and I felt so sorry for the insured. I left to go to Panera to get a bread bowl with some broccoli cheddar soup and a nice Sierra Turkey sandwich which was my favorite order. On the way there I spotted a beautiful pearl white new 2005 Cadillac Escalade at the Cadillac dealer. I wasn’t in the market for a new car but I decided to stop and take a look. One thing led to another and I ended up putting a deposit on the car and made an appointment to go back so I can discuss price and purchase. The sales man said I had to put the deposit down on it so they would hold it for me, I didn’t have the time to do it at the moment because I still had to go back to work. I went back on my off day a few days later only to not see it parked out front. I thought to myself maybe they are having it cleaned in anticipation of me buying it today so I didn’t think much of it. The salesman kept saying he will come get me when he was ready, he claimed it was a busy day for him. I kept waiting and waiting only to go back to his office and he wasn’t even there. I asked another employee if they could page him for me, I was getting impatient. That’s when I found out he left. I asked to speak to the sales manager and inquire about the car I put a deposit on and asked if it was being cleaned. He looked it up and told me they sold it two days ago. I said I was there two days ago and was told to put a deposit down on it so they would hold it for me. He said they don’t ever do that unless it’s a special order. He asked to see a receipt and I showed him my receipt given to me by the salesman. He looked confused because he said their receipt are never handwritten, they are always printed with my info, the dealer info, the car vin number and other info. This was just a generic looking paper receipt with my name on it and the amount. But it did have his name on it. They did refund me and asked to show me another car, I told him I was fine and I left. But I did drive an hour out of my way to a different dealer in Cleveland and ended up buying the same spec car from them. I then drove it back to the shady dealer and made them wash it for me since Cadillac offers free car washes for all Cadillacs regardless where I bought it.

"I think when we started off FP1 the car felt great, I was consistent, but of course there was still, there's always areas that you feel like you can improve, so we made subtle changes to try and fix those improvements and it flipped the car on its head and it was horrible through sprint qualifying and then all through the race I just had no confidence in the balance, and we made all these changes into qualifying, so I was learning a new car again, a new balance again, which I'm much happier with, but now trying to progress with it, learning it in only like six laps was a challenge, but also the Mercedes are up ahead now that we have a bit of a deficit on power, so I think tomorrow I think our race pace should be better and I think as I said the car is better (for the race)." “This year you won Monaco, you won Silverstone, and you won the World Championship. What else is there left to do?” Lando: “I mean, they're really the best ones. Just downhill from here. I would have loved to make my life a bit easier and winning just earlier next time. But it's always more exciting when it kind of goes down to the final race, final few laps. It's more exciting for everyone, for you guys most of all. But I won ones that, again, people have dreamt of winning. There are some of the most incredible ones. The lap I did in Monaco in quali was the only other time, probably in the last 10 years, that I cried a little bit over something. Because there I proved myself wrong. It was one other moment this season that I proved myself wrong. Because I had that bad run of results. I just couldn't perform in qualifying. Qualifying has always been my strong suit, my best. Yeah, it's been my strength since I was in karting. All my qualifying results are my thing and they weren’t at the beginning of the season. So, when I went to the hardest track to do a qualifying lap in, I turned off my delta for the first time that weekend. So, I couldn't see if I was on a better lap, worse lap, whatever it was. It's not been my best track in the past. For me to then to go there and put that lap I put in at the end of qualifying was one of the best moments of my career in a way because it was the time I almost doubted myself the most ever. In the most important season that it turned out to be. mingyu talking about their tiny desk concert video 🖤 🐶 i wasn't able to sleep until 5am earlier, i wanted to post the tiny desk video on my ig right away and i feel proud [of what we did] and i was really nervous as well. we were in washington dc for around 5 days and we rehearsed for that to prepare and then filmed, and it wasn't really easy. we really had nothing - there was no audio coming out from the mic and it was just my raw voice. we didn't have any in-ears, we weren't singing over a backing track either but with a live band so i was pretty nervous. so i was contemplating if i should do it or not but i kind of just went for it at the end. it was a good experience and i just went for it thinking, "when will we ever get to do this?" seeing us, seventeen, on npr is so fascinating in itself and i felt very proud of what we achieved that's why i liked it.

Had a first happen last night on the bench press, the last rep of the last set failed as I went up. I was trying to get it back in the hooks and my left arm said “Nah, I’m done lol.” I’ve never had to bail out of a lift and it was embarrassing having the plates hit the floor!
