how does the current pass from the blue cable to the black cable?
Function correct but dangers and wrong you are switching the blue wire (N), meant when you have to work on that lamp it's always under voltage and dangerous. NEVER switch N, ALWAYS use L as the switches wire!!!
Por normas se corta por la línea de fase ( marrón) El neutro es directo (celeste) Mal el circuito eléctrico. No cumple las normas eléctricas de Argentina y la mayoría del mundo .

Not just SPDT, each which is called as SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw). Where as the complete circuit is called as staircase configuration. It’s very much useful for staircase or portico lighting to control the light from two places
