Day 17 of 2026 - and extortion violence shows no sign of stopping. Another Surrey family was shaken awake by gunfire around 2:20 a.m. - this time in Bear Creek area. SPS say the home in the 8600 blk of Galway Cres. was occupied at the time of shooting. Reported extortion cases in Surrey now outnumber the days this year, with at least 4 extortion shootings in just one week. Businesses & their families remain trapped in fear & trauma, with no end in sight.
