I actually do Krav Maga, and it is insane how much time we spend on knife defense and even gun defense. I can quickly take that knife away like candy from a baby, or flip that gun around. We do it until it's in out muscle memory. In real life, who knows?

I learned CKM from Moni Aizik himself when he came out to my military installation and taught 8 of us to be instructors. I can say as someone who’s practice several fighting styles/art forms, Krav Maga is by far the most practical. I did not enjoy being his punching bag for several weeks but I learned a ton from him and very grateful for that.

After engaging and locking the arm, use eye gouges, chop the jugular, etc... jugular chop will buy you some time as their vision temporarily goes dark and sparkly. The eye gouges can buy you some compliance as well. Everything else he instructs is spot on.

We use to practice defending knife attacks on the wrestling mats. Attacker would use a rolled up magazine/stack of paper or even just their thumb. It's crazy how hard it is to actually defend and how easy it is being the attacker. Best bet is to 2A a knife attacker. But it wouldn't hurt to practice something like this, even if it's just to experience how difficult it really is to defend against knife attacks.
