On this day in 1989, the Dead closed out a three-night run at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles, joined by special guests Spencer Davis and Bob Dylan. The show marked the first, and final, performance of “How Long Blues” since 1970, with Davis contributing guitar and vocals and remaining onstage through a closing “Gimme Some Lovin’” to end the first set. Dylan later sat in on guitar for several songs, added vocals to “Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again,” and returned for the encore, “Not Fade Away,” before leading the band through “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” 📹: LoloYodel on YouTube
