AI Mocap tools are evolving at breakneck speed... and I could find more than 10 all compiled and compared in a list you can get by subscribing to the XR AI Spotlight newsletter (link on top of my profile). This is Cartwheel and the stepping on that box was one of the most solid I saw. There is a bit of floatiness in the feet and they are not perfectly grounded, but since I tested the tool, the team has pushed massive improvement. What AI mocap tool do you use in your workflow? Spent a couple of days with Claude building a tool for rendering SVG icons. Added some basic interactions, but honestly ended up spending most of the time polishing them - not just simple gizmo transforms, but more interesting stuff, little effects, etc. Now it’d be cool to plug in a token-based agent to generate scenes and materials. Just for fun.

I was asked a few times at work and by some other folks how I go about making pipes, cables, edge decals, etc in #maya I use the Sweep Tool for a ton of this stuff. I had to break this up but I hope you enjoy it, have fun! The non broken up video is below this post.

@ollybromham For the time, I just had a hunch how it should move and feel. I pulled some of the variables into sliders and built a little 'design tool' which allowed me to fidget around with the values and feel it out (this makes SwiftUI such a neat prototyping tool!) :-)

I spent too much effort (and money) trying to win this stupid little guy, BUT I WAS VICTORIOUS! Then some rando came by and accused me of “shaking the machine” which…I absolutely did not do lol. If I wanted to do that I’d just pick the whole machine up and dump the toy out.

Now that we are deploying this model across the most critical sectors in our economy, if we fail to get a richer understanding of the tool and fail to interrogate the intent with which we are using this tool, then we are going to end up in the situation that are in now #citizenexplainer

I finally got around to dogfooding my own ntm tool for managing a bunch of agents, and... it's not bad? I made an ntm skill for Claude Code and then simply told it to use ntm with 10 CCs and 5 Codex instances on a new project that I just finished making the beads for. Easy.😎
