CGI has come an incredibly long way since 2007, but this flawless technical advancement has ironically stripped movies of their cinematic soul. Older films used a blend of practical effects and rawer digital textures that gave scenes an organic weight and true depth. Today, while visual effects are technically superior, the pursuit of computer-generated perfection has unfortunately traded that gritty, captivating visual quality for a sterile, artificial smoothness.
