Reminder that in these games spiderman would beat up actual thugs, gangsters and delinquents (including black and red bandana wearing 'punks'. The police would thank him and protect the area as a force of good. All of which we can't do these days because they worship disorder.

They nerfed the swinging mechanics in modern Spider-Man games because in Spider-Man 2 you had to figure out the swinging mechanics or you wouldn't be able to play the game, and this alienated a big enough part of the consumer base that it was considered unacceptable.
