VERDICT: The Spigen controller grips create VERY SLIGHT difficulty with pinky finger tracking compared to the Ergonomic Accessories Kit, but it doing that is inconsistent and I’ve had instances where it isn’t doing it, and overall both grips generally track equally as well. Pinky and ring finger tracking with Steam Frame just isn’t the best in general right now. For social gestures, sign language, and any needed finger movement, the Spigen grips get the job done and despite being Silicone still absolutely feel fine to use, with the only major caveat being the battery cover not being as accessible as the ergo kit. There shouldn’t be any gameplay impact choosing the Spigen grips, as long as you have the straps velcroed on correctly to the shape of your hands. One thing to note is that I, as for many people, cannot effortlessly lift my ring finger without my pinky moving as well, which you can tell in the footage. This is not a fault of either grips or the tracking and is just my hands! For people who cannot get the Ergonomic kit for whatever reason or don’t want to pay for the extra accessories, the Spigen controller grips are great for over half the price.

seen enough. re release the knuckles for the frame

what about vision of the controllers? doesn’t it block some of those infrared sensors?

Not enough to affect gameplay

gotcha thanks

Tysm for this, might actually go for the spigens whenever valve decides to send me my damn purchase email

I've noticed even with the knuckles controllers, the exact position of the controller in your hand combined with the exact size of your hands affects the controllers' tracking capability, most notably on the pinky and sometimes ring fingers. Very minor adjustments with the straps on the knuckles controllers helps a bit there, I'm curious if it's the same here. I wonder if the tech can get good enough eventually to track fingers more accurately in general, which can theoretically help those size-and-position issue as well as even splay!

wait finger tracking works on vr chat? buh im missing out by being a linux user

Wow the individual fingers on the frame look significantly worse than the knuckles.

My problem with the index tracking is that my hands get sweaty quickly so tracking either stops or has a huge delay (and slow moving fingers) Do these controllers track differently?
