You have to be willfully ignorant to believe that solar power is useless for serving air conditioning demand. (which is driven by sunlight) Peak demand yesterday was 77 GW Peak net of solar was 71 GW Net of solar and storage was 68 GW Without solar and storage, we would have had to burn 46% more gas and have 9 GW of additional on-demand capacity available. Around the country, we have grids breaking from massive air conditioning demand, but Texas is cruising along just fine because of solar and storage. You cannot seriously believe that the Sun is powerful enough to overload our grids, but not powerful enough to power them.
