So great. The anatomy feels so effortless, capturing all the muscle and joint details at the line art phase. Are you able to draw poses like this from imagination at this point? If so is there a specific way to study anatomy that you've found most effective?

i almost never draw from imagination. reference is there for you to use!

Could you explain your thought process when plannning out splashes? Do you think of the character and pose first then the background or is it all at once?

you need to have your resources/references gathered first before you start really drawing anything at all. a lot of doing illustration is about the planning and brainstorming and trying out thumbnails before committing to an entire drawing

Awesome art, great use of colors but I got a small question, why the rectangle inside the rectangle? (I can't remember if there was a technical name besides like- thumbnail ig?) Are you trying to fit the character in there for something? Is it some composition thing?

helps with planning and visualization. comp is basically determined within and by the rectangle(s). (and yes it is thumbnailing)
