According to Escobar, Iran rejected a Qatari proposal for dual shipping corridors. Instead, Tehran and Muscat are discussing a temporary arrangement with a single navigation channel managed through mutual agreement. He also notes that Iran insists there are currently "less than zero" direct negotiations with the United States.
