“Spotlight” director Tom McCarthy says the Catholic Church hasn’t changed “enough” in the decade since his biographical drama won Best Picture at the Academy Awards: “I’ve heard from a lot of people who saw the movie. A lot of people who felt understood after the movie was released. Has... show more

There’s plenty of abuse in other religions; maybe you can highlight them as well?

JD Vance: "What I loved about Catholicism was that you had this beautiful, ancient Church. A lot of the Christians...who were really good husbands, really good fathers, these were people who had been formed in the Catholic Church. That's just what felt like home to me." Jesse Watters admits his wife is "kind of" trying to convert him to Catholicism.

Here’s how the Roman Catholic Church operates like a cult… they believe that salvation comes through the church rather than directly from Christ. Just examine Catechism paragraph 846, which states that those who refuse to enter or remain in the Catholic Church cannot be saved. As former Catholics, we understand that the church does not see us as truly saved, nor does it see any non-Catholics as saved, since it claims to be the one true church. Don’t be fooled by semantics, when the catechism says catholic Church, it defines it as the Church In submission to the Pope in Rome, the Roman Catholic Church.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church is NOT infallible. In 2018, Pope Francis created a new draft of CCC 2267 which states: "the death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person." But the death penalty has never been understood as this in the church. If so, that would mean everyone under the authority of the church who enacted it would be committing an intrinsic evil.

The system is not working. It is not the fault of the police it’s the policy that’s inept. GDPR protects dangerous sexual offenders at every level. We need change. This is a national crisis and people have had enough.

Coleman Hughes (Coleman Hughes) presses Glenn Greenwald (Glenn Greenwald) on his relationship with Tucker Carlson. Coleman Hughes: “I’ve heard [Tucker] promulgate lies to an extent that is really shocking to me…2020 election…Pizzagate…Aliens…Do you, as a journalist, feel that you have a responsibility to hold him accountable?” Glenn Greenwald: “I’m not saying everything Tucker has said has been in agreement with me. I’m not saying it hasn’t deviated from the facts. I’m not saying that he doesn’t occasionally wander into conspiracy theory. I think that’s true of a lot of people… But my journalism has focused on the people who can start wars—like the U.S. security state—and the people who can spy on us—like the NSA—and the people who go around the world killing people—like the CIA and the president—who can start wars…That’s my focus…There’s no shortage of people attacking Tucker Carlson every single day. But there is a shortage of people attacking all the other institutions. The much more damaging and powerful ones.”

Like a lot of people, I saw the protesters interrupt Biden at Mother Emanuel AME Church and my "don't you know this is not the place!?" instinct kicked in right away. But does that instinct really apply here?

Baptised Catholics who walk away from the true Church often claim they have “seen the light.” But let’s be clear, that is not the light. No failure of a priest. No scandal of a bishop. Not even the weakness of a Pope is ever a justification to abandon the Catholic Church. The truth is this: you don’t leave Christ because of Judas. The Catholic Church is not built on the perfection of men. it is built on Christ Himself and sustained by the Eucharist. Those who truly understand and value the Eucharist do not walk away from it. Call it what it is, not “seeing the light,” but turning away from it. Leaving the Catholic Church is synonymous with turning away from the Light.

Absolutely heartbreaking 💔 Homeless people don’t make me feel unsafe. A society that lets them suffer and die in the street does. As someone who survived homelessness, I saw something real today... The mayor of Montreal Soraya Martinez Ferrada who actually felt it and is committed to change. Enough is enough. We need change!

To all these Protestants who claim you are former Catholics, and you say that the Catholic Church taught you not to read the Bible or that you should stay away from the Bible, and that you can't understand it, only the Church can, quit creating calumny and falsehoods. I have literally walked into Mass and they have Bibles out in stands. You can literally contact your diocese and they'll mail you a Bible, as well as the Catechism. I know because I've done it. Vatican II, even the Catechism of the Catholic Church, requires Christians to read the Bible, so just stop with the calumny. There are a lot of things I disagree with in the Catholic Church, but this is not one of them. So stop lying. The Catholic Church teaches to read the Bible. They have study Bibles. They give Bibles out. Calumny is a sin. cc: The Bible In Context needGod.net

I asked Abdul El-Sayed why he apologized six months after his comments following the synagogue attack in Michigan. "As I've traveled the state, I've heard that that comment caused a lot of pain, and it was not my intention to cause any pain at all. But I'm big enough to apologize when I make mistakes. I understand that it's not what people wanted to hear at the time."
