Have you seen us at the Kololo Junction Traffic Lights 🚥 today? That was us: After the lunch date at Protea, I took the boys on a street vending challenge. The idea was to teach them to make pitch in 20 seconds and make someone buy an apple 🍎 or an orange 🍊. I gave each boy 3 apples to sale make sure they bring me back my capital investment but keep their profit. They had to learn to smile for someone in the car and convince them to buy an apple. They had to learn to fight for space with other street vendors because they also want to work. They had to find away to pay attention to the bodabodas while they walk through the cars. Above all, they had to learn to take “no” as an answer in case someone is not interested in buying. I taught them that sometimes people have a bad day and they don’t want anything to do with your products. They also learned that to make a sale , it’s not a walk in a park!!! Thank you for the people who passed by and bought from these boys …. Today is an experience for them to remember.

hi everyone, i've just been hate raided by twitch streamer mazellovvv they are a streamer with 1.1 million followers that sent his viewers to my stream saying comments in Russian that translates to calling me his 'wh*re', indecently asking me to show my chest, racist remarks, calling my stream 'bullshit' and honestly just worse terms im not comfortable typing out. as a vtuber, he sent his viewers to tell me that he 'likes my chest'. i've been told that the best course of action is to report the streamer and ask my community to do so as well. please report this streamer as this behaviour is genuinely appalling. i may be a much smaller streamer in comparison, but i hope that through this we can stop others from being affected by this behaviour too. being a big creator is no excuse to act this way.

Pest Control “secret” for those small annoying flies that bug you while watching tv (feel free to repost since we’re moving into bug season in many areas): As we move into late spring/early summer months in US, many people like to leave doors open. Sometimes you’ll get an influx of small flies. There are 3 main species of flies that buzz around your head while sitting on the couch. The fruit fly, the phorid fly and the fungus gnat. If you see a small fly just “sitting” on your wall or a few small flies hanging out on the wall near your garbage can, it could be the fruit fly. I won’t go into boring details of how to tell various species apart, but will share one trick that can help reduce their population. First, keep your doors shut as much as possible. They gain entry usually that way, then find a source to breed in. To help reduce the breeding adults, 1) Grab a clear bowl or glass and place some red wine (or a few pieces of banana) in the glass. 2) Put some clear Saran Wrap or cling wrap on top fairly tight. 3) Next grab a pencil or pen and poke 4-6 holes in the wrap. This will allow the aroma of the fruit or wine to be strong as it comes out of the glass and will attract the flies 4) The flies will be immediately attracted to the bowl/cup and make their way into the holes you poked. Once in, they’ll drink the wine, or feed on the bananas and can’t get out. I prefer wine since they get drunk and drown. Bananas won’t kill them. Wine will. 5) Discard every 7 days and repeat. The best approach is to find the source of their breeding. Garbage disposal? (Bleach doesn’t work by the way) Garbage can? Debris under refrigerator? Also, re the fungus gnat species. This will not work. They feed on fungus, generally from overwatered potted plants inside or doors left open near extremely damp exterior area. One other method that is highly effective are the small plug in light traps. A combination of the above along with a plug in light trap will keep most fly issues at bay.

Beauty should be a core pursuit of biotechnology. There should be companies and nonprofits that engineer organisms solely for the sake of crafting beautiful things. A few reasons why: 1/ Biotechnology has historically worked in reductionist ways, but many useful functions only emerge at the systems level. By engineering a systems-level outcome, like beauty, we will get much better at engineering organisms in predictable ways. When I say "reductionist," I mean that most useful things in biotechnology (drugs and tools) were discovered by stripping molecules from their natural contexts. Beauty has persisted through tens of millions of years of evolution because it is functional; bright colors help attract pollinators to a plant, for example, which helps the plant breed. If evolution has created all of this beauty for functional reasons, then it stands to reason that by trying to create **new** forms of beauty, we'll be able to discover and understand how these systems-level functions work! Indeed, we may even be able to create entirely new functions that biology hasn't evolved yet. These functions will not possible to understand via isolated molecules or reductionism. Therefore, a company pursuing engineered beauty for the sake of beauty will probably make many fundamental discoveries about how organisms develop, interact, adapt to their surroundings, and so on. 2/ Beauty is a way to grow the field and bring more people into biotechnology. Nick Desnoyer’s flower design work, for example, has probably reached hundreds of thousands of people. The glowing plants from Light Bio, too, were featured in the mainstream press. You may not think that these examples are “important” for the universe relative to, say, an incrementally better cancer therapeutic, but there’s no question that they are way more popular to mainstream audiences and good, overall, for the field. 3/ The market is huge! Breeding is already widely used to engineer beauty, or at least to select for aesthetic preferences. Pugs are evolutionarily suboptimal, but they've been bred precisely to satisfy a certain aesthetic desire are now a multi-billion dollar industry. The Juliet Rose, developed via breeding over a 15-year period, debuted at the 2006 Chelsea Flower Show and is enormously profitable today. The first generation of DeePle is officially over! To those who minted—welcome! And to those who bought from the secondary market, you have my utmost respect. So... what’s next? I’d like to say this is just the beginning of an evolving project. There will be a second generation with fresh items and unique features, followed by a third, and more. I'm excited to dive deeper into the DeePleVerse and explore all its possibilities, and it would be an honor to have all of you along for the journey. Now, I’d like to share some thoughts and the vision behind this experimental yet fun art project. Over the past years, we’ve seen countless ups and downs, with beautiful and ugly moments unfolding simultaneously in web3. Here’s what I’ve learned along the way: 1/1s and Editions are fantastic for maintaining authenticity and scarcity, especially from incredible artists. However, they can feel too exclusive, making it difficult to build a larger community. On the other hand, PFPs are great for fostering a community, bringing people together around a shared belief. But they often lack the authenticity of fine art and can attract too much speculation. I’ve always wondered how we could bring the best of both worlds together. And that’s how DeePle was born—after much thought and exploration. I wanted to remove the gambling aspect, so there’s no reveal or rarity. I wanted collectors to have full control, allowing them to choose what to mint based on what they see. I also believe it’s crucial to strike the right balance between public and coordinated spots for the drop to avoid creating a speculative atmosphere. While I have some interesting ideas for the future, I’m never going to reveal what’s coming or use the word "roadmap" because I want to avoid creating unnecessary hype and making unrealistic promises. For now, I hope people find value in the experience and become part of the DeePleVerse. The goal is to build a genuine community, step by step, with each new round of drops, and to gradually bring in more people over time. None of this would have been possible without the Shape and Transient Labs. Shape created an impressive and efficient L2 chain that enables the complexity and functionality necessary for this project. And Transient Labs fully understood my vision, creating the perfect tool to bring DeePle to life. I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead!
