🎬 Sputnik (2020) I truly don’t know what would scare me more here, the creature itself or the fact that the people in that room are trying to figure it out like they still have everything under control. The way the tension builds without showing too much is what...

Jacob Tierney discusses the demanding physicality of Connor and Hudson's Heated Rivalry roles. "What I always knew about this show—and what I like in general—is behavior is more interesting to me than dialogue. Especially with characters like [Shane and Ilya] who are almost never talking about the topic. They are talking around things. They are full of bluster. They are bragging or showing off or being defensive. … So it's way more about their behavior. It was so much more physical, what I would tell them to do. Because I was like—this dialogue, this scene is like 2½ pages, and not one thing you're saying matters. I don't care about it. What I care about is what your body is doing up against that wall, and when you decide to approach him, and the way you're going to touch him, and at what point. And when you're going to let him off the hook emotionally or when you're going to hook him emotionally. That stuff is so much more important, and that you pace in around what is written. And that is deeply physical. The best acting to me is always physical and the best platform you can give an actor—as a writer, I think—is physical stuff… I want to see what your body is doing. Your body will tell me more than your words ever will. Your eyes will tell me more. But like, especially with these characters, because they're athletes too. It's like physicality will be everything. And that was also why these roles were so demanding, you know? There's the physicality of the intimacy, and then there's the physicality of the hockey. Everything is physical in this story." 🐰 Thank you. Japan feels strange sometimes. It keeps making me cry. I have to sing later... 😂 Actually, it’s always the warm words from all of you—my dear Bingos—that touch me deeply. Hyperknife is a project we finished filming last year, and I had even completed The Wonderpools, the next project, before coming here. So in a way, the time I’m living in and the time you're seeing me don’t quite align. But it’s thanks to you, Bingos, that I’m able to keep my feet on the ground. Even if something is already in the past for me, the fact that you continue to watch and support me makes it feel like I’m still here—right now. That truly moves me. To be honest, the filming process itself wasn’t too difficult—it was actually quite enjoyable. But as the release of the project approached, a lot happened, and it made me reflect deeply. Even when we’re all working on the same project, it’s impossible for everyone to feel exactly the same. Still, I always want to walk the right path. So I needed time to understand and convince myself—what Hyperknife wanted to show, what kind of person I hoped Seok would come across as to the audience. That process of aligning my thoughts sometimes made me feel a little lonely. But I kept going, believing that Bingos would always support me and continue to see me. It’s been about 8 or 9 months since we finished filming, and now, finally, you’re watching the result. Hearing you say, “You’ve worked so hard,” makes me feel like this journey has come to a meaningful close. I did my best in this project. And it was all thanks to you. Thank you so much. 🩷💚
