It's changed quite a bit over the past year. If you haven't played in awhile, you'd probably like it.

If it isn’t completed reverted, unlikely. Using intentionally unrealistic weapon handling in your *mil-sim game* (though it’s more of a mil-sim lite) in order to try and force teamwork is a pretty braindead development decision. Not like ARMA and other similar games do that

The other reason why I quit was vehicle damage and balancing just being stupid, much prefer Squad 44’s system. BMPs should be able to melt an Abrams from the side, MBTs should be able to one shot each other, there should be no vehicle health bars, etc etc. Commit to simulation

Squad is a total time suck. You'll start a match at 6p, blink and it's 2 am. It's so much fun.

No detail to the map, even. No objects laying around, blank square buildings, low mesh detail,.. Lack luster. Just get over the fact that Wardogs is taking over your favorite game’s, it’ll be easier for you later.

Squad is at its best when playing with experienced teams and squad leaders and gets even better and more rewarding if you squad lead yourself. It forces you to make hard decisions under pressure and scrutiny from your peers. There’s really nothing else like it imo.

Squad is good if you have friends to play with. Most the time its dudes taking it too serious. Its a game. Lol play to have fun not follow some random rules. The community of squad has killed squad. Sadly. Its so far behind now

I tried squad so many times and it just turns into a running simulator for me. It's extremely, extremely slow at times as well. But I do get why some people enjoy the more mil sim experience, nothing against it. Just too slow at times.

In squad, if you hear a bike and you aren't playing insurgents then always run for your life.💀

Have they ported good PR maps faithfully yet? I always wanted to love Squad but was held back by terrible and boring maps

God damn the visuals have come a long way since I last fired up. Those explosions looked incredible.

I haven’t played Squad in like a year or two. It was too sim for me. Could never even see what or who we were supposed to be shooting. Even worse was people turning the game down to minimum settings so that they had an unfair advantage spotting enemies in grass and foliage.

Squad has gotten better over the years! My biggest problem is how, while communication is so obviously required, its really hard to find matches where your in a squad that actually communicates. Sometimes you find it, but 90% of the time, its dead mics and no fobs.

I love squad, played a lot of PR and kickstarted the game even but after play wardogs I can't excuse how badly squad runs anymore

Gunplay and tank combat are literally worse than some roblox games

What you fail to mention is the unplayable optimization, constant crashes, broken servers, and toxic community. Squad had its chance to actually do something 8 years ago and here we are. More like Squandered.

The games just play different. Both games are good.

Yeah, I got turned off by how jank the movement and weapon handling and anything really is in Squad. The weapon handling is horrendous.
