I love moths, they get such a bad rep for no reason. What type are these? Are they kept as pets?

These are deathheads hawkmoths, theyre often kept as pets by advanced mothkeepers They're good pets because their ability to eat as an aduly allows them to live for longer, but they are one of the more stress sensitive moths and are insanely easy to freak out and when a caterpillar/moth is stressed out they die pretty fast

Funnily enough theyre the fastest moth in the world by quite a good bit and yet theyve completely lost their "im scared, i must fly away" reflex when theyre scared they'll instead try to fight the attacker no matter its size We assume they got like this because their survival depends on stealing honey from the bees, and i'm pretty sure bees didnt let them simply fly away after they've been spotted

No I found it on my lunch hr from work & he was on the pavement next to a whole of greenery & shrubs so I moved it deep inside all the shrubbery, I'm always looking at the ground when I walk looking for fallen bees etc & I spotted him just before someone stood on him

Do the squeaks mean they're happy?

Unfortunately it means theyre anxious :[ But it might also be because theyre moving around they tend to squeak without purpose, but if they squeak while not moving it means theyre stressed
