Well yes, but that supposes the Soviet Union by that stage was on course for socialism, or was it just an elite take over using Marxism rather like a church uses Christianity to justify authoritarian rule.

Abolition of classes is total nonsense. Because the rulers always find some unwelcome "class". Farmers with a few more cows and posessions, were called 'kulaks' and were considered as a hostile class that had to disappear. It's all theory. Dangerous theory.

It also halved men’s salaries and made it impossible for most couples to raise a family without two working parents, and opened the door to polycules and other forms of non-traditional relationships that have ultimately contributed to the destruction of the family unit and Western society as a whole. The writers, who are undoubtedly liberal, painted her in an unsympathetic light for the show. But they may not have intended for her to be so sensible, but she was, and is in this portrayal by Cate Blanchett, completely right especially in retrospect to what women really want in their lives and what society needs women to be.

Canadians scoff at America's inequality, yet the best in Canada immigrate to it. We come here precisely for this inequality and the unbounded limits of achievement it opens up. In Canada, all humans are given more respect regardless of their achievements. Society is materially and socially more equal. But when you are given a participation trophy for doing nothing, for just being a human, there isn't the same hunger for success. The same sentiments of equality so hospitable to the majority is suffocating for the ambitious.
