Russia's new framework allows crypto for cross border settlement but not domestic payments "Russia is opening a regulated crypto market, but it's heavily regulated and effectively run by the government. Sberbank, which many say is the biggest bank in the world and is obviously very closely tied to the Russian government, has its new crypto framework going into action starting September 1st." "They project $46 billion in first year volume, and $87 billion by 2029. That's not very high, because ordinary retail investors will be allowed to buy approved liquid cryptocurrencies, but purchases are capped at 300,000 rubles annually, which is about $3,700.
