🇺🇦 Zelensky: Today we celebrate the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – an independent Ukraine, a Ukraine that knows how to defend itself, a Ukraine that stands in such a way that there is simply no one in the world who could afford to ignore us, our state. And even those in the world who still do not believe in Ukraine or simply do not know enough about Ukraine, are still forced to reckon with how Ukraine will react. Few states in the world have such weight. Even fewer could really stand against such Russian strikes, assaults, and meanness, from which Ukraine is actually defending itself every day and every night. We are deterring a full-scale Russian invasion. We have been holding back Russian murderers for almost four years of full-scale war – after years of hybrid war – we are keeping them behind the front line. Ukraine exists, and the fate of Ukraine really matters, and the world must reckon with this. And this is solely because we have you, Ukrainian warriors, Ukrainian soldiers, Ukrainian sergeants, Ukrainian officers, and everyone who works for our defense, everyone who provides the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all our Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine. From Grain from Ukraine to Food from Ukraine. At the fourth International Summit on Food Security, we announced a shift from humanitarian assistance to mutually beneficial partnerships with African countries. Ukraine is no longer only an exporter of grain. We are ready to supply world-class food products and share our agricultural technologies, irrigation practices, and processing expertise with countries of the Global South to strengthen global food security. Despite the war, Ukrainian agricultural producers this season account for 36% of global sunflower oil exports, 38% of sunflower meal, and more than 13% of global corn exports. Our courageous farmers and producers continue their work even under the hardest conditions — shelling, mined fields, and drone attacks in frontline areas. The AGROEXPO exhibition, held as part of the summit, demonstrates that Ukrainian entrepreneurs are developing modern agricultural machinery and processing equipment even during wartime. All of this is Made in Ukraine by our engineers — and it works. I underscored the importance of continued support for humanitarian demining. More than 170,000 km² of Ukrainian territory is potentially contaminated with explosive ordnance — land that could feed tens of millions of people. Demining is therefore not only a Ukrainian priority, but a global one for food security. I thank Ukraine’s international friends who traveled to the summit. We know many guests crossed thousands of kilometers to be here. Your presence and engagement are a strong signal of unity and confidence in the power of our partnership. We invite partners to join the Food from Ukraine initiative — in production, logistics, investment, and demining. Together, we can strengthen global supply chains and feed millions of people.

In just over a year of operation of our maritime export corridor, 70 million tons of cargo have already been transported. More than 2,500 ships have departed from Ukrainian ports. Ports in Asia, Africa, Europe, and America are receiving our Ukrainian cargo. Countries from Egypt to Indonesia, from Tunisia and Libya to India, from Algeria to China have received our Ukrainian grain. Thanks to the humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” hundreds of thousands of families and millions of people in Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen, and Sudan have received essential food supplies. I thank everyone working to enhance our export potential, and I am grateful to all those around the world who are helping. This undoubtedly strengthens peace.

Russia blowing up Kakhovka NPP is an act of terrorism that will have long-lasting negative effects not just on Ukraine but the whole world. The South of Ukraine is one of the main global agricultural areas. The destruction of the HPP will flood the lands, destroy the irrigation system - less food will be grown, and exported, deepening the global food crisis. Russia will be able to continue blackmailing the world with food terrorism as one of the leading food exporters. This could have devastating effects on Ukrainian economy - food is one of our main exports. The costs of restoration will be enormous. Tens of thousands more people will become IDPs. The North-Crimean canal will dry out, leaving Crimea without drinking water. This means that when Crimea returns to Ukraine, it will be a disaster zone, just like Donbas. Terrorist state is committing genocide right before our eyes. The consequences will be felt for decades. The world must acknowledge Russia as a terrorist state. Ukrainian Armed Forces must receive everything and anything to ensure a sustainable Ukrainian victory and stopping Russia as a global threat to humanity.
