The residents frustration stems from the large funds allocated to Roysambu through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), which they believe should have been used to fix the poor road conditions. Official records show that constituency received Ksh 145,087,603.00 in the 2022/2023 financial year and Ksh 175,361,810.00 in the 2023/2024 financial year, totalling over Ksh 320 million across the two years most roads in the constituency remain in a terrible state, with potholes and poor drainage.
