Stanford Reservoir - #patchgold when I found this Purple Heron earlier whilst looking for Reed Warbler! Only the 2nd ever record for the patch following one found by Mark L. Piper in 2011. > yesterday I found out they’re rereleasing John Frusciante’s “To Record Only Water For Ten Days” for Record Store Day (one of my all time favorite albums) > this morning I went out and asked two local record shops to hold me a copy if they get it > later I went record shopping in another city and found the 2017 rerelease worth €150–€250 >I bought it for €48 in perfect condition > life is very good

Hal Needham requested Jerry Reed to write a theme song for "Smokey and the Bandit" (1977). Jerry Reed came up with the iconic theme song, "East Bound and Down" overnight. When he played it for Needham, judging by his reactions, Reed thought that the song wasn't good enough & offered to rewrite the song if Needham found it unsatisfactory. Today I beat Minecraft 15 times with an average of 20:06 (!!!) and a fastest time of 16:32! WHAT A BOUNCEBACK!! After one of the toughest days in this challenge, I have my 2nd best day EVER and BEST DAY with 15 runs, so happy. Thank YOU for being there for the ups AND downs!

This is genuinely unexpected: when driving in the middle of the Xinjiang countryside, we just stumbled upon what's one of the coolest cafés I've ever seen. Check the video and tell me this place isn't pretty cool! We're in a place called "ken si wa te" (肯瓦斯特) where there's a man-made water reservoir (created by a dam downstream). They've created a small attraction around this reservoir, including this café, a cable car, a glass bridge, etc. This is the first day of our family RV roadtrip in Xinjiang and looks like we've found the perfect spot to spend the night!
