🇺🇸 ELON: STARLINK WILL COMPLETE THE GOAL OF A CONNECTED WORLD "SpaceX is very focused on the Starlink constellation for internet connectivity. It's bringing internet connectivity to places which don't have it, or where it's very expensive. It's a tremendous enabler of education and for enabling people to sell their goods and services internationally. Even if you're a remote village, you can still sell your goods and services." Elon Musk: Starlink is going to do a tremendous amount of good “Starlink is good in and of itself. The Starlink system provides low-cost, high-bandwidth connectivity anywhere in the world. It's the first truly global Internet system. And I think it's helping a lot of people around the world who either don't have access to connectivity, or it's too expensive. You know, once you have access to the Internet, you can learn anything. You can sell your products and services to the rest of the world. So, I think Starlink actually is going to do a tremendous amount of good in lifting people out of poverty and helping them.”

ELON: STARLINK WILL MOVE THE GDP OF COUNTRIES "Once you have access to the internet, you have access to all the world's information. But if you don't have access to the internet, or it's too expensive or low bandwidth, then you cannot access the MIT lessons. You can't access all the information, and you can't sell the goods and services that you produce. So, internet connectivity is certainly a candidate for one of the things that would do more to lift people out of poverty than anything else because they can now sell their goods and services, learn anything, and work better. Without connectivity, they cannot." Source: Milken Institute

Elon Musk explains how Starlink will actually move the GDP of countries “If you don’t have access to the internet, or it’s too expensive or low bandwidth, you cannot access MIT lessons, you can’t access information, and you can’t sell your goods and services” Starlink changes all of that “Starlink will actually move the GDP of countries. It’s going to be that kind of thing” Because GDP is simply average productivity per person and connectivity massively boosts productivity

Here’s Elon Musk 8 years ago jokingly talking about AI in space: “There's not enough processing power on [Starlink] to be a Skynet thing.” Jonathan Nolan: “Let’s talk about another project that you're working on that our audience wants to know a little bit more about: Starlink.” Elon: “Do you mean Skynet?” Nolan: “Hopefully not Skynet.” Elon: “It's the Internet in the sky. Essentially it's intended to provide low latency, high bandwidth Internet connectivity throughout the world. There actually will not be enough cognitive processing power onboard the satellite system to, in any way, be a Skynet thing. AI requires a lot of big servers on the ground. It's too power intensive. But this is intended to provide people who don't have any Internet connectivity, with Internet connectivity. And it's very good for areas and for giving people in cities a choice of low cost Internet access. I do think it's going to be important, the Starlink system will be important in providing the funding necessary for SpaceX to develop interplanetary spacecraft and at the same time helping people who have either no or super extensive connectivity and giving people information.” Source: Conversation between Elon Musk and Jonathan Nolan at SXSW 2018, March 11, 2018. ELON MUSK: "Starlink is having a significant effect in terms of lifting people out of poverty. In many parts of the world, people have a product that they want to sell, but if they don't have an Internet connection, they can't do it. Basically, you can learn anything for free."

ELON: STARLINK IS A COMPLEMENT TO LANDLINES AND 5G “I want to be clear, like it's not like Starlink is some huge threat to telcos. I want to be super clear - it is not. In fact, it will be helpful to telcos because Starlink will serve the hardest to serve customers that telcos otherwise have trouble doing with landlines or even with cell radio stations with cell towers. 5G is great for high-density situations like being here in D.C. or New York, San Francisco. 5G is great for high-density situations, but it's actually not great for the countryside. For rural areas, 5G is not great. So, Starlink will effectively serve the 3 or 4% of the hardest-to-reach customers for telcos, or people who simply have no connectivity right now or connectivity is really bad. So, I think it will be actually helpful and take a significant load off the traditional telcos.” Source: Satellite 2020 Conference, March 20, 2020

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu literally brought a Starlink terminal onto the UN stage today while talking about freedom of speech Holding it up, Netanyahu said Iran’s rulers are afraid when their own people have access to Starlink because it gives them a way to exercise freedom of thought and speech He then left the terminal with the president of the UN General Assembly to pass on to the Iranian delegation Think about how important this is Elon built a technology that connects people directly through satellites when terrestrial internet infrastructure is restricted or unavailable Starlink has gone far beyond being just an internet service The Prime Minister of Israel just held it up at the United Nations as a symbol of giving people access to information and a voice when governments try to control both

🚨 ELON MUSK: "We were never at any point selling Starlink to Russians. What they essentially got Starlink units that they ordered through Ukraine, and then and then smuggled them into the eastern Ukraine where the Russians are. In order to address this, what we worked with the Ukrainian government to create a whitelist of approved Starlink terminals. Now, this has some downsides, because a whole bunch of people who were just innocent users of Starlink and just trying to access the internet for work or for education, now don't have Starlink. The Ukrainian governor's publicly thanked Starlink many times for being instrumental in defending Ukraine."

I believe Starlink will become the world’s largest recurring subscription business one day. Today, Starlink has 12M+ subscribers across 160+ countries… yet still 2.2 BILLION people (~26% of Earth’s 8.3B) still have no internet access. The potential for Starlink is massive.

"This is a communications device, Starlink, that allows people to access truth, to exercise choice, to exercise freedom of thought and freedom of speech." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu holds up a Starlink device at the United Nations as he takes aim at the Iranian government's restrictions on internet access. "I'm going to leave this device with you so you can give it to the Iranian delegation. So when they inevitably defect, they too will be able to freely tell their story on social media."

Elon Musk talks about how SpaceX can provide low cost and high bandwidth internet to parts of the world that don't have it or where its very expensive to use. This is part of the $DUOL bull thesis. While many are focused on their Mom and Grandma Claude Coding a Duolingo replica in their pajamas before tea time, I'm focused on $ASTS and Starlink providing internet to parts of the world that don't have it. These companies effectively expand the TAM for Duolingo and other products and services by 30%. There are approximately 2.5-3 billion people that still do not have internet on Earth. Once they have access, their immediate instincts will shift to learning, especially learning the English language in a structured way. Learning english will give them access to better jobs and allow them to support their families via higher income from the english speaking job (can be applied to chinese and other languages as well).

When we were lobbying President President of Zimbabwe to approve Starlink in Zimbabwe, this is what we wanted… Now, 8 000 rural schools will be connected to Starlink’s HIGH SPEED INTERNET… that’s 100% Internet access for ALL rural schools in Zimbabwe. In the digital age, access to affordable & reliable high speed internet is not a luxury, it’s a PREREQUISITE for economic development!

It’s been over 24 hours now that the dictator of Iran has shut down internet connections for 90 million Iranians. Internet access is the lifeline of Iran uprising and by making Starlink services available for Iranian revolutionaries, Elon Musk has made a crucial and indispensable contribution to the fight for democracy in Iran. Thank you, Elon! Videos that people sent from Iran today using Starlink. ✌🏻 #Iran

JUST IN: Trump says he has spoken to Elon Musk about providing Starlink to communities impacted by Hurricane Helene, says “Elon always comes through.” Hundreds of thousands of people are currently without internet. Towns like Asheville are currently considered “blackout zones” for accessing the internet, texting and making calls. Starlink is one of the only ways to get internet access after fiber optic lines buried along roads were damaged and cell towers were knocked offline. “I just spoke to Elon. We want to get Starlink hooked up because they have no communication whatsoever.” “Elon will always come through. We know that.”
