First payload deploy from a V3 ship. The pez-dispenser door geometry has to swallow a 1.6 m taller stack of disturbance loads and still seal clean. That two of those sims are flying as on-orbit cameras pointed back at the ship's tiles is the part of this flight that pays off for the next decade.

While watching this launch today I was reminded of the first time when I was that excited about an event like this. It was in January 1986 when the Space Shuttle „Challenger“ lifted off in Cape Canaveral and exploded. 40 years ago, unbelievable. A lot has happened in the meantime. I have so much respect for all the people working on such a project, for their patience, endurance, perseverance and faith! This is just incredible. Thanks SpaceX-Team, you are truly writing a unique history. 👏🏻🙏🚀

First successful payload deploy from a Starship — this is the unsexy headline of Flight 12. V3's bay opens, dispenser cycles, sats fly. The architecture isn't proven by liftoff or reentry; it's proven by "we put commercial-class payload in orbit on the first try with a brand-new ship." That's the milestone.
