Being poor is not an eligibility for asylum you know damn well none of these countries are even on a list of eligibilty for asylum. Asylum seekers can apply in their own country in any US embassy they do not have to come to the US to apply. The law already states entering illegally makes you ineligible for asylum. Also asylum is not permanent once their country us stabilized they have to go back. We have laws for a reason.

Ideally, I would have preferred to tackle this through bipartisan legislation, as that's the only sustainable way to fix our broken system, hire more border patrol agents, asylum officers, and judges. Migrants will be restricted from receiving asylum at our southern border unless they seek it through an established lawful process. Establishing DACA in 2012 allowed over 800,000 undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children to live and work legally — without the constant threat of deportation. But DACA was never meant to be a permanent fix — it doesn’t grant lawful status or a pathway to citizenship, and must be renewed every two years.
