Former Aftermath artist Stat Quo alleges that Drake used to send Kendrick Lamar songs hoping to collab, but Kendrick routinely declined because he didn't like Drake: "If y'all don't know, for a long time, every time Drake would do an album, he would send Kendrick something to get on. So this is going on behind the scenes. So, anyway, Kendrick has not liked Drake for a long time." (Via Justin L. Hunte & Culture United)

🚨 Justin Hunte says J. Cole completely changed The Fall Off after the Kendrick Drake battle. Hunte points to Cole admitting the album took on a new direction after the beef, arguing the project became “100% reactive” and shifted into fan service instead of the decade-long vision Cole originally had. He also criticizes Cole for chasing the post-battle regional wave, comparing the album to Kendrick Lamar’s GNX and calling it a “follow the leader” project instead of the work of someone leading the culture. J. Cole reveals the idea for “The Fall Off” was to feature both Drake and Kendrick Lamar on the album as a way to celebrate coming up in the same era😳😲 He also says apologizing to Kendrick ended up being a “blessing” that helped him finally drop the album 👀

🚨 Wack 100 says The Game would’ve tried to squash Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s issues if Kendrick had approached him about Drake. Wack breaks down what was really going on behind the scenes when Game brought Drake to Compton for the “100” video, claiming they had no idea Kendrick viewed it as a serious issue. He says if Kendrick had called Game about it, Game would’ve gotten Drake on the phone and tried to fix the situation. Ak pushes back throughout the conversation, arguing Kendrick wasn’t looking to fix anything in the first place.

🚨Akademiks gives a BLUEPRINT on how to beat Kendrick Lamar in a battle to Drake, J Cole and anybody that wants to get it in with him. Battling Kendrick isn’t about bars, it’s about how far you’re willing to go. Kendrick has no limits, no moral line, no pause button. While Drake was busy explaining why he wasn’t what Kendrick accused him of, Kendrick never explained anything he just kept disrespecting. Ak recalls the whole battle. 😂💀

🚨 Ray Daniels claims J. Cole may have “lined Drake up” during the Kendrick battle on the Rory & Mal podcast. Ray says if Cole had fully joined the battle, things might’ve played out differently since it would’ve been three artists going at each other instead of Drake vs Kendrick. Rory also says Drake deserves more credit for actually responding to rappers who diss him, unlike most artists who only throw subliminals. Ray adds Drake and Cole are actually more similar as people, while Kendrick is wired differently when it comes to competition.

So this whole ugly beef really started because Kendrick was given the Big 3 moment and he publicly rejected it with “it’s just big me.” Kendrick was just refusing a hierarchy. Now there is rumors of Kendrick being on a J. Cole album with Drake after all this supposed “culture war.” So what was the point of all that division? all that moral grandstanding? I guess it was just about positioning. I believe, the industry needed a counterweight to Drake, someone they can market as the “pure” alternative, and Kendrick was it. Here’s why I think Drizzy should never do a project with Kendrick nearby: When Drake shows up- he brings the world with him-streams, playlists, headlines, and attention. If Drake were on an album with Kendrick, Drake would activate the culture, but the story would become “Kendrick outshined him,” even if Drake made the actual hits. That’s how narratives work. Drake would create the success, and Kendrick would get the credit, just like what happened in the beef. That power trip beef by UMG was all about narrative laundering. So Drake staying away is the smart move. Without Drake, Kendrick has to stand on his music alone, no giant spotlight, no built-in villain, no automatic attention from being next to the biggest star in the genre. Look at that Playboi Carti project: no Drake, no real peak, no lasting impact. And that’s exactly what Kendrick’s team doesn’t want tested, again. At the end of the day, it’s simple: Drake doesn’t need Kendrick to win. Kendrick needs Drake to matter. And that imbalance is what this whole “beef” was really built on. 🦉

Mal says he wishes Drake had done exactly what J. Cole did to test the public's reaction. If the roles were reversed and Drake had backed out of the Kendrick Lamar battle, apologized, and pulled his diss track, people would have absolutely slandered him.

🎙️ DJ Akademiks Reacts to J. Cole on “7PM in Brooklyn” Clears Up “First Person Shooter” Drama 👀 Here’s breakdown of what DJ Akademiks is saying about J. Cole, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar: 🔹 “First Person Shooter” Who Wanted Kendrick First? •Akademiks says Cole is clearing up a major narrative: •❌ It was NOT Cole pushing for Kendrick •✅ It was allegedly Drake (or his team) who originally wanted Kendrick on the record •According to the breakdown: •The song may have started as a Drake x Kendrick idea •Kendrick’s side wasn’t responding or moving on it •That’s when Drake pivoted to J. Cole 👉 This flips the narrative fans have been running with. 🔹 Akademiks: “Half Truths, Not Lies” 🤔 •Akademiks doesn’t call Cole a liar, but says: •He’s speaking in “half-truths” •Cole likely knew Kendrick was in the mix early on •Key point: •Cole mentioning Drake + Kendrick together suggests 👉 he had some awareness of the original plan 🔹 Drake’s Mindset at the Time 🧠 •If Drake was still trying to work with Kendrick in 2023: •There was no full-blown hatred yet •It may have been more about competition than beef •Akademiks take: Drake could’ve wanted Kendrick on the song just to out rap him, not avoid him. 🔹 J. Cole’s Position 🎯 •Cole says: •He received the beat by himself •There was no active 3 man version when he got it •He felt pressure to deliver for Drake and rewrote his verse multiple times 👉 Bottom line: •From Cole’s POV, it was always him + Drake when it got to him. 🔹 Dreamville Fest Context 🎤 •Another “half truth” Akademiks points out: •Drake was always planned to perform at Dreamville Fest •He backed out to avoid putting Cole in a tough public position 🔹 Schoolboy Q Rumor = FALSE ❌ •Akademiks shuts down the rumor involving ScHoolboy Q: •Claims Q “warned” Cole are completely made up •Origin traced back to internet/blog speculation (not Q himself) 🔥 Bigger Takeaway •There’s a mix of: •Half-truths •Misinterpretations •Flat-out rumors •But the key shift in the story: 👉 Drake may have wanted Kendrick FIRST… not Cole 💭 Final Thought This adds a new layer to the whole situation: •Drake → open to collaborating (even competitively) •Kendrick → possibly moving differently behind the scenes •Cole → caught in the middle of narratives he didn’t fully control

🚨 Akademiks explains why he won’t compare J. Cole’s The Fall Off to Kendrick Lamar Ak says Kendrick has isolated himself culturally to the point where he has no real competitors left — “Who’s competing with him? JID? Baby Keem?” Ak calls J. Cole a “vegan rapper” and says it makes no sense to stack Cole next to Kendrick musically or culturally. He also predicts Kendrick is dropping again this year AFTER Drake, and says Kendrick’s career is in a rare space where competition doesn’t even exist anymore.
