Abati is trending because Arise TV’s Reuben Abati has dared Akpabio to impeach Tinubu for disrespecting the constitution. Abati stated that, Tinubu solely decided to make himself the Dictator of Rivers State, suspending the governor, the deputy and the legislative. Which is totally illegal in the 99 constitution. By which, Tinubu commited an impeachable offense, removing Sim Fubara and installing a military administrator in charge of Rivers State without NASS approval. He argued that, Tinubu cited Section 305. But failed to recognize Section 188 which stated that, only the NASS and AGF can remove an elected official. — Not the President. That’s why when Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency over insecurity in three northern states, including Borno, Adamawa and Yobe., he didn’t suspend the government. Unlike Obasanjo who did it in Ekiti and Plateau, although illegally, which doesn’t make right. Obj legal adviser then, argued that they acted based on the 1961 constitution, not 1999. Abati insisted, Tinubu commited an impeachable offense by acting against the Nigerian constitution. But APC folks, believe Abati is misinterpreting the laws because he worked under Goodluck Jonathan as his Senior Adviser on Media. Actually, for short.. According to the constitution, Abati is right. The president cannot remove an elected official, Obasanjo doing it was illegal. Also, the conditions for a State of emergency to be declared, were not fully met. Since it was an “emergency”, when the President declared SOE, to suspend the officials, he should have recommended it to the Senate who should have approved it almost instantly, since it was an “Emergency”. But, the Senate did not approve the SOE. Which they have two days, and 10 days to do. Essentially invalidating every sense of “Emergency” in the State. Again, validating that there was no cause to suspend the Governor, Deputy or Legislative. If the senate doesn’t approve the SOE in 9 days, the SOE won’t stand. Today, NASS didn’t talk about the SOE, they moved it to tomorrow, Thursday. Albeit, President Tinubu has sworn in Navy Chief, Admiral Ibokette Ibas, as the administrator for Rivers State. And according to reports, Rivers FAAC allocations will be released to him. This was blocked by Supreme Court, pending Fubara’s re-presentation of the budget. Pres. Tinubu will make laws for Rivers, through the FEC. — Illegal. Follow Trending Explained for daily explanations!

VIDEO: Wike Hosts Suspended Rivers Lawmakers in UK The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, hosted suspended Rivers assembly lawmakers in the United Kingdom on Monday. The minister's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, in a post on on Tuesday said the lawmakers, who are in the UK for "legislative capacity building”, were hosted to a dinner by the minister. He wrote, "Yesterday, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, hosted Rivers State House of Assembly members who are in the United Kingdom for Legislative Capacity Building, to a dinner. "Wike left Nigeria on Sunday night after visiting his political friends and associates in Port Harcourt, Rivers State." PUNCH Online reported on Sunday that the suspended Rivers lawmakers, led by the Speaker, Martins Amaewhule, departed Nigeria for a tour in the United Kingdom. Amaewhule was said to have declared open the 10th Rivers Assembly Legislative Tour of the United Kingdom on Friday. He claimed that the legislative tour would allow the House to learn new things outside the shores of Nigeria, which would improve the capacity of members for the tasks ahead. Recall that on March 18, President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu and members of the state House of Assembly. He also appointed a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), as sole administrator for an initial period of six months. The development came amid the political crisis in the state stemming from the power struggle between Fubara and his predecessor, Wike. Credit: X| Lere Olayinka

VP Shettima is trending because Kashim Shettima openly indirectly called Pres. Tinubu a tyrant, the Senate a rubber stamp. Speaking at fmr AGF, Mohammed Bello’s book launch in Abuja, VP distanced himself from the State of Emergency rule that removed Governor Fubara. He recounted his experience in 2013 , when Goodluck Jonathan wanted to remove him and other North East governors, over insecurity in the region. But the then House of Representatives speaker, Aminu Tambuwal boldly told him, it’s not possible because he (Jonathan) lacked the constitutional right to do this. Jonathan wasn’t convinced, and went to ask the AGF M. Bello Adoke, Bello reiterated the constitution, insisting Jonathan doesn’t have the power to remove an elected Governor or Councilor from office. Shettima thanked the Tambuwal and Adoke for their defiance. Although he didn’t directly say “Tinubu you’ve been a bad boy”. But his tone, and the message has been interpreted as such. Because, on March 18th, Pres. Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers state over the Wike/Fubara power tussle and removed Fubara for six months, which is totally illegal by the Nigerian constitution. But possible with help from Akpabio leadership, which many believe the reps were bribed to support the constitutional pillaging. Shettima’s message is aimed at the president, the senate, house or reps and the AGF. Shettima according to multiple reports, will not be Tinubu’s running mate in 2027, despite his classic impressive hand writing. So according to analysts, he’s now tilting towards the coalition. APC media members are totally disagreeing with the video. Arguing that, suspension and removal are two different things. - Regardless, the President, has neither the power to remove or suspend a democratically elected official. In the 2013 event, President Goodluck Jonathan declared state of emergency in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States due to Boko Haram, but he didn’t suspend democratic structures. Which now according to new information is because the AGF and Speaker didn’t approve, unlike the Fubara situation. • A Civic tech platform that can end rigging, by tracking elections result from polling units to collation centre has been launched Citizen Monitors 🗳️ and they’d be testing it this Saturday, July 12th. Wike is trending because APC, APC National Chairman have disowned the FCT Minister, and sided with Rivers’ Sim Fubara ahead of 2027. Recall last year, Fubara and Nyesom Wike reportedly settled, on conditions that Fubara won’t return for a second term. Well, tables turned last month when Fubara defcted to APC and declared full support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Hinting he’d be running for a second term. Ever since, Wike has been lamenting blatant betrayal, reviving their fued. Over the weekend, Wike said Fubara is going against the peace agreement they reached around June last year before the emergency rule was lifted. Adding that himself and PBAT are on same page, so Sim won’t return in 2027. In his words, should Fubara return, it wound bury him politically. Today, Wike openly threatened fire on the APC National Chairman, Senator Ajibola Basiru, asking him to steer clear of Rivers State political affairs and focus on Osun State. And they (APC), shouldn’t take his (Wike) support for PBAT for granted, because their motivation is Rivers money. This evening, Ajibola Basiru directly replied. Emphatically telling Wike he’s not a member of the All Progressive Congress. Therefore he has no authority to interfere in the party’s political matters. That, he should stop referring to their governor as “So called Governor” and maybe resign as FCT Minister to focus on his obsession with Rivers State politics. Otherwise, he should steer clear, as he’s not a member of their party. In summary, Basiru said; your support for Tinubu doesn’t make you a member of our party. And we won’t tolerate you destabilizing our state (Rivers State). Meanwhile Wike still insists he’s a PDP member, working with the APC for PBAT 2027 success in Rivers State and beyond. Even though he was duly expelled from the PDP in November and issued a certificate of expulsion for anti-party activities. APC members too have moved camp to Fubara, while amplifying the National Chairman’s statement. Nyesome Wike is yet to react to any of these. But his loyalists believe he will come out on top, with maybe another emergency rule or something creative this time. Because he’s bigger than Basiru and Fubara combined and there is no way PBAT will let him loose with 2027 around the corner. Others rather spectate as the drama for 2027 builds. • Tired of estimated Billings in your estate? Electricity, Gas, Gen or Water? .. Vendr Utilities has fixed it. These are the facts. Yesterday, he explicitly stated that declaring a state of emergency doesn’t remove the governor. Today, he’s claiming that the president is in a precarious situation. Watch the entire video until the end. He said expressly no be can declare state of emergency in Nigeria and remove the governor but Pres.Tinubu did, so why can’t he say Expressly President Tinubu was wrong. He stated boldly no body can declare state of emergency in Nigeria and remove the governor he said if anyone tried it they will fail. So when Tinubu tried it 2 hours why didn’t he say Tinubu is operating an illegal law! He then said the president was pushed to declare state of emergency? Based on his argument yesterday why didn’t he say the president has no powers to declare state of emergency and suspend the governor He then pushes the argument to the National Assembly to decide which is a grand pivot mechanism. I have been in this business for 20 years so I know a pivot. The same 1961 law that he claimed didn’t exist ( he called it an antiquated law/ an illegal law)yesterday is now the same law he claims some lawyers informed him is still active. Before I intervened today, I watched the video multiple times and noticed that the speaker had pivoted. If he adheres to the constitution he quoted the previous day, why can’t he explicitly condemn President Tinubu in the same manner as he condemned Obasanjo in his previous intervention? It’s evident that he’s playing a strategic game. All the other things he said were to prolong the situation and ultimately support President Tinubu while citing the opinions of some lawyers, the same law he discarded the previous day. I’ve shared the entire video for accountability. We’re also aware of other events that transpired yesterday.
