I don’t eat at Steak ‘n Shake very often (their transparency and ownership have always been a little weird to me), but a new controversy I just read about is pretty silly. During remodels, they may add a QR code scanner for soft drink refills. Basically, you scan proof of purchase so people can’t just order water and then help themselves to unlimited soda. Some folks are now boycotting because they have to scan their receipt each time. I think it’s a smart move that helps keep people honest. The entitlement is wild, people are genuinely mad about scanning a code for a free refill? Go to almost any other country where free refills barely exist (if at all) and they’d be begging for this system. 😂🥤

This is why all of the people you love are struggling to pay rent or feed themselves, and are staring down the barrel of being the end of their millennia-long ancestral bloodline, as they see no mathematical possibility of being able to raise a single child, let alone the 8+ this woman will have as we are paying for all of it. If you wake up every day enraged at this system, it's because you are awake and paying attention. You and your family enjoy the day at the aquarium and you are on your way out. The parking garage’s electronic gate was malfunctioning, no matter how you pay and it shows you paid, the arm wouldn’t raise to allow people people to leave. An attendant showed up and said they were working on it. After what felt like an eternity, a man walked up to the machine and held it up for people to leave while the attendant was visibly angry and was calling the police because the man was helping people leave without paying, should the man be arrested for helping people leave without paying or was it the attendant’s fault for not fixing the issue?

$See that red tape line on the floor? You better not cross it before they tell you “GO!” or you’ll not only get yelled at, you’ll make about 100 people instantly dislike you. My first experience at the Goodwill bins… this operation is so much crazier than I was expecting. This sweet woman spotted me sticking out like a sore thumb. “You a first timer?” She proceeded to give me the rundown: “The college kid resellers are aggressive. See those bins along that wall? Be careful if you go there. They’ll snatch things right out of your hands.” “Every 30-45 minutes they swap out the bins. You have to stay behind the tape line.” “Don’t bring your cart on the floor. Go to the register and get a piece of paper to tape your name on the cart and leave it along the wall.” I have never seen anything like it. And of course, I snuck by the warehouse doors to peek inside what’s happening behind the scenes. Massive pallet racking FULL of clothes bales. I’m talking hundreds of thousands of pieces. Conveyer belt sorting systems with everything you can imagine. Pallets of bicycles. Filthy vacuums. And rolling bins. A bazillion rolling bins full of who knows what, but apparently some treasure. Before you get triggered by “people making money off donations that are ‘supposed’ to support people who are impoverished,” I invite you to go see an operation like this. The amount of excess materialism is astounding, and this is a microscopic fraction of it. Resellers duking it out over labels and prized goods all day everyday at places like this are playing an extremely important role in a circular economy that is making a difference in the appalling about of waste we have created as a society. You won’t find me doing this to source inventory, but of course I snagged a small stack of books because who would I be if I didn’t 😜 And I have a lot of respect for the number of young adults I saw hustling their way through this chaos, leaving with garbage bags full of items that are putting food on their tables. Wild.$

There’s truth to this. I was in the food service for 20+ years and there’s actually a reason why this is done. We would hand out clear cups to whites so we could tell if they were actually getting water VS a soda they didn’t pay for. Whites are privileged and we refused to let them take advantage of that. We handed out red cups to the blacks because we knew they were poor and needed to steal to enjoy finer things in life. The red would hide the bubbles in a sprite or similar soda. Unfortunately we didn’t accept EBT so this was our way of saying ‘we are sorry.’ ‘You don’t have to steal here. Take a break from stealing. We know it can be exhausting.’ Just doing our part. 🫡 Hope this helps!

Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Concrete and blocks have microscopic pores that pull water from the earth through a process we call capillary action. This thick black substance is the shield that stops that water from climbing up into the house. It is not about making the wall look good because this part will be buried under the dirt forever. It is about creating a skin that water cannot breathe through. When do you need to do this? The need for this arises because the soil is a very aggressive environment. Water is not your only enemy.. The ground also contains salts and sulfates that want to eat away at the cement. If this moisture finds its way to the steel bars inside the columns, those bars will start to rust. And when steel rusts, it expands, and that expansion is what cracks the concrete from the inside out. This coating is the only thing standing between your foundation and that kind of slow destruction. Thats is why if you see wet patches at the bottom of your walls inside your house, it usually means someone skipped this step or did it poorly during construction. You can apply this anytime you are building parts of a structure that will stay in contact with the ground. It is common in areas where the water table is high or where the soil stays damp for most of the year. This is a one-shot opportunity. Once you backfill the soil, you can never go back to fix it without a lot of expense and a lot of digging. It is about having the foresight to protect the heart of the building while it is still exposed. Please don’t ignore this if you need to. If you ignore it now to save a bit of money, you will be funding the future decay of your own home. I hope this helps.

I have a tendency when lifting to keep adding weight without paying much attention. I don’t use this machine often. Set done. I calculated the weight and thought, “320? That can’t be right.” Then I checked the plate on the machine: starting weight 118 lb (53 kg). That would make it 438 lb total. This machine must be easier to push. What do you guys think? 🤔

people say "nobody makes a fuss when it happens outside of latam" well actually, we do. maybe u dont see it? when people bring ethnicity into the mix, yes, you absolutely have a right to be mad. but when people are simply calling out behaviour that has happened at these recent shows and you immediately jump to "nobody cares until it happens in latam" no babes, the receipts are right there. here are some receipts of people criticising the exact same behaviour outside of latam too. i can find some more if you want

This is happening at Panama City Beach in Florida. Panama City Beach flags are out warning people to not enter the water because of hazardous conditions. Anyone caught in the water will receive a $500 fine. 😳 You can only walk on dry sand. Someone said they got a fine because the water went far enough up to get their camp wet. Some have stated “how are they going to tell me that I can’t go in the water?” 🤯 But many people said they need to follow the rules to keep everyone, including lifeguards and rescue personnel safe. I am for the fines. People need to stay out if the water and away from it during these conditions. Too many people’s lives being put at risk. 💯 What do you think? Do you think it is an overreach to levy fines against people going in the water or do you think it is justified to keep everyone safe?

This is what “rich” looks like I wake up everyday feeling like I hit the lotto. Not when I’m up on a trade or when I drive one of my cars, but in quiet moments like this. Just a few years ago, I was facing prison time. Broke. Delivering food on DoorDash to scrape together a few hundred bucks to fund my trading account. We shared a one-bedroom apartment with $500 to our name after bills. The journey from there to here wasn’t overnight. It wasn’t glamorous. It was a grind that broke me down before it built me up…but it made me the man I am today. Yes, I have the cars and watches now that people associate with success. But I can tell you with absolute certainty…they don’t compare to this. Building a life with someone who believed in you when nobody else did and winning the game of life Trading changed my financial situation, but gratitude changed my life. If you’re reading this and still in the grind, just keep pushing. I know it may seem like it will never work, but it will. You have to believe that. You have to be thankful for every little thing because without the bad there is no good. Without the bad you become weak. The most important thing is to remember what you’re working towards and make sure there is real meaning behind it. There’s nothing wrong with cars or a lavish lifestyle… But the only way you’ll have the hunger to get it and sustain it long term… Is by having a higher purpose that you constantly remind yourself of.

There will come a day when you sit in stillness and remember the version of you who refused to “Give Up.” The one who showed up broke, exhausted and ridiculed; but never let go of the vision. That day is coming—and when it does you will cry; not because you are hurting-because it all finally made sense. All the pain, doubt, delays and all the missed exits. It wasn’t punishment; It was preparation. You weren’t meant to get rich fast, You were meant to become someone “Unshakable.” You are awake,alive and know this matters.
