NAVIAI-I3, a more robust humanoid robot, was launched by the Zhejiang Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center. Standing 1.8 meters tall, it can run like a human and walk on various terrains. This humanoid robot appears to be primarily designed for specialized industrial tasks, such as security patrols in underground parking lots. They previously launched the lightweight bipedal NVAI-2 and a wheeled humanoid robot. The bipedal robot is used in manufacturing operations, while the wheeled humanoid robot is used for unstructured, flexible tasks such as warehouse sorting, supermarket shelving, and office cleaning. We filmed this demonstration at the World Robot Conference; you can see it in the comments section.

Humanoid and Siemens successfully completed a POC testing humanoid robots in industrial logistics. HMND 01 robot autonomously performed a tote-to-conveyor destacking task during a two-week on-site deployment at the Siemens Electronics Factory in Erlangen. At first I thought the robots were worth ~75% a busboy, but they’re better than that. With robots moving the food and dirty dishes, the servers stay nearby and watch the tables, rarely leaving to return to the kitchen, improving service. This is the future of big restaurants. I don’t know the history of restaurant robots but as far as I can tell, this is a Chinese innovation, the type that they are supposedly incapable of creating.

Again, people should really pay attention to the Chinese company Unitree making these robots (and selling them - by the thousands - to consumers for a rather low $1,300): The founder is on the record saying that he ultimately wants to create "general-purpose household robots that can assist homeowners in various tasks such as washing dishes, cleaning floors, making beds and cooking". In short the humanoid helper robots that we've been seeing in sci-fi movies for decades. At this stage, if any company in the world has a shot of getting there first, it's probably them.
