When Gabe Newell called Linux "the future of gaming" in 2013, many in the industry were skeptical. Valve launched Steam for Linux anyway. Fast-forward a decade: the Linux-powered Steam Deck launched, leveraging Proton to run thousands of PC titles seamlessly on SteamOS, an operating system rebuilt on an Arch Linux base. What began as a bold bet on open source transformed handheld PC gaming forever. Video courtesy: SuperTux Team, via Steam #Linux35

Nice feature coming to Ghostty on macOS: keep window on top! Can be toggled via both the native menu bar, command palette, or bound to a key. This is a common macOS app feature (e.g. provided by Notes, Calculate, etc.). Feels right. 🥰 (For Linux/GTK users: this should be done at your WM/DE level instead of Ghostty which is more idiomatic. There doesn't seem to be a Wayland protocol for this and I didn't dare even look at the X11 atom nightmare fuel.)

But a spokesperson for The New York Times, which sued the Pentagon, said the new policy does not comply with the judge’s order, and the newspaper filed a new motion to compel the Defense Department to do so. Liz Landers has more.

They had no lightweight Linux kernel. Gabe wouldn't share his optimization secrets. They won anyway on pure code.

At Council today, I reaffirmed Houston’s longstanding policy: we enforce state and local laws — not immigration laws. HPD does not ask for immigration status and only reports to agencies with active warrants. This has been our policy for years under previous administrations.
