Samuel Jackson being chomped on by said shark after inspiring the others to get it together is even more peak 😆

One of the all-time great WTF moments of cinema 😀

The most unbelievable part of this scene is that at the first sign of cracking Samuel Jackson's character doesn't immediately head for the exit saying "Nope. nope. nope."

That's because it isn't a snake. He knows how to properly react to those.

This film is one of my guilty pleasures (it's not actually very *good*, at least in the sense that it makes ANY sense whatsoever or has ANY believability, but it sure is fun to watch).

This is my movie sweet spot. The movie equivalent of fast food.

Yes, I see that - and like fast food it's something you go to again and again even if you think you will never do it (I've probably rewatched this movie just "out of the blue" more than any other film - not a purposeful rewatch, like we do every year with "Planes, Trains", just "oh, I feel like seeing this now". Like, right now 🤣

It's almost a relaxant. It expects nothing from you, and we need that every now and again.

Haha this movie was so over the top and I loved every second of it! A smart shark? That swims backwards? 🤣 And an epic Samuel Jackson death! Peak 90s cinema indeed

It's stupidly entertaining. I think in about 10 to 20 more years, we'll look back upon these movies as if they're high art. At least they were original.

I love this fucking movie. They don’t make em like this anymore.

The physics of this scene makes no sense. The water would flood the whole room instantaneously, there's no out running it. Still, I have to marvel at the spectacle of it all. You really don't see it in movies anymore. Not without CGI.

The fact that the film just moves on and none of the characters even think of Skarsgaård after the glass breaks (he’s now in the room with them, alive, in a stretcher, and they just move on) makes me chuckle.

LL Cool J had the best lines in this flick.

Thomas Jane falls down a lot in this movie poor guy 😂

Even an angry mutant shark couldn't throw a person through water to break glass of that strength. I like this scene more...

I also love that ’90s trope where they cast a huge star just to kill them off out of nowhere. This and Executive Decision are my favourites in that regard.

Love this film, very much disengagey brainy type stuff, perfect when you just don’t want to think, but still want to watch something really entertaining. The Samuel L Jackson speech was a real highlight for me 😅

I remember seeing this in a crowded theater. It was so much better than it needed to be. I'm not usually a fan of "fun" movies, but it didn't get much more fun than this one. I'm not sure if the whole audience was laughing and cheering, or just me.
