Ruptured mine playing basketball. Had the same surgery. Back to work in 3 months and 3 weeks. Back to playing basketball by month 6. The screws are bio-absorbable. Happened when I was 50 years old. 53 now. Feels like nothing ever happened.

My brother snapped his Achilles tendon and it grew back together again without any surgery. They simply kept his foot in a toe-downward position so that the snapped ends were close to each other, and the tendon healed itself!

Doctors literally stitch the torn ends back together, sometimes add reinforcement, and then it’s months of rehab before you can even jog again

Yeah, glad I went the natural method. I get it if you’re a multimillionaire athlete but just give me the spacer and boot and mother nature will do her part.

Attachment to the heel is the exception, not the norm. Been there. Most pulled together, sewn (percutaneous method most popular). Going forward for the repaired or healthy AT, eccentric movements the key to keeping the health and recovery of the AT.
