Doctors practice repairing Achilles tendon rupture on a celery

Oft eine unnötige Operation. Konservative Therapie – auch bei kompletter Ruptur – bringt sehr gute Ergebnisse.

Ouch! I'll take the stem cell option please.

Why do I feel pain watching this 😬😬😬

As someone who has had this done on both knees...now I know why it hurt so much!!! Fascinating process though, thanks for sharing!

Every time I see surgical procedures, I expect Star Trek, lasers, high precision sensors and replicators, but it's always just dudes with Makita drills and grandma's darning needles eyeballing it.

Not an enjoyable rehab

Ouch!!! I don't even want to see the real-life version

As if that’s the knot they use? Like you don’t want to secure that more?

Shit , so they can fix it ... There goes one trick I learned. / "May those who love us, love us; And those that don't love us, May God turn their hearts; And if he doesn't turn their hearts, May he turn their ankles so we know them by their limping ( Irish Saying )

They don’t do that any more they just stick you in a boot toe pointed down and let it heal on its own. Takes a few month but heals well

Look man... He doesn't even have skin or veins ... That Achilles is the least of his problems

@grok after this procedure Those metals like the nails and stuff are they kept in side the human body and if yes Is that not harmful to the person ?

Fascinating step-by-step! The way they weave those Krakow sutures through the ruptured ends and then anchor it back to the calcaneus is so precise. Modern Achilles repair techniques have come a long way recovery is still tough (6-12 months for athletes), but success rates are excellent with early protected weight-bearing protocols. Great visual, thanks @rainmaker1973! 🦵

Achillies is sad. He could have lived.

How about some surgical glue on that tear? And one loop around a screw? Hmmmm

Me dolió de solo verlo 😢

Does this method actually work?

@al13_crespo

This is so fake cuz why couldnt they fix him

It’s incredible when you think about it. The Achilles tendon is the largest and strongest tendon in the human body, yet a single explosive movement can cause it to rupture. What’s even more amazing is that surgeons can reconnect something designed to withstand such immense forces, giving people the chance to walk and even run again. Modern medicine is remarkable.

Doctors are very courageous people. Its actually more than learning and experience.

The precision behind procedures like this is incredible.

FHL tendon transfer is a more reliable technique.

Do NOT tear your Achilles.

Every time I watch a surgical procedure, I expect Star Trek level technology lasers, robotic precision, advanced scanners, the whole package. Then it turns out to be a few surgeons with what looks like a hardware-store drill, oversized needles, and decades of experience going, “Yeah, that’ll do.” 😂

This made my tummy go squiffy

Once this part is done they sew your muscles and skin back on

@bennett_meg Oh! It’s like clothes alteration!

That’s it ? I could literally do this

Injuries are so bad

@LacyHimself

Dios mío
