This is the kind of immigrant story that actually makes Canada stronger. A guy who escaped Iran as a kid in 1989 just laid it out plain and simple. He came here and was blown away that parades were about Santa, balloons, and kids having fun — not tanks and missiles. He blended in. He didn’t get offended by pork on the BBQ or rainbow flags. He embraced it. Now he’s watching newcomers show up and try to bring the exact same poisonous crap they ran from — getting angry at Canadian traditions, shoving religion down everyone’s throat, refusing to participate in something as basic as handing out Halloween candy, and trying to change the rules instead of joining the country that welcomed them. His message is simple: Canada opens its arms. The least you can do is assimilate and mind your own business. If you’re not here to become Canadian, he’ll personally buy you the plane ticket home. The mental gymnastics of the left, citing international law, to defend a dictator, for the sole purpose of criticizing Poilievre, is top-tier stupidity and hypocrisy. Maduro was a dictator. The US government has shown his ties with Russia, China, Hezbollah, Hamas, and cartels. Venezuela has the biggest displacement of people (refugees) in the western hemisphere. Nearly 90% of people live in poverty. 50% live in extreme poverty. And when you compare the drastic drop in GDP per capita, it cannot be denied that what was accomplished by Donald Trump is a positive outcome for the people of Venezuela. To make the argument, that we shouldn’t celebrate because “this is bad for Canada” is also an insane take. Canada can only blame Liberals for not expanding our oil & gas supply over the last decade. And instead, “investing” billions in global gender programs and foreign aid. Imagine making the argument that a dictator should remain in power so our oil & gas industry isn’t hurt because of our own incompetence? Regardless of what our politicians try to tell us, this is a huge victory. Don’t listen to the lunatics, listen to the cheers and joy of the people of Venezuela.

But anytime the government can take your private property after you’ve paid your taxes, bought something, and put it in your garage, we are done for. That is when the politburo has unlimited capacity to tax and take and do what they want. That’s the moment we’re at.”
