Stephon Castle at UConn made me value elite talent that doesn’t need the system to revolve around them to succeed Players who buy in, embrace their role, and can still thrive within a high-level system ⭐️

@aburks41 Dude had ZERO ego. Was fine being 5th option until more was needed. Lock down defender and did everything else the team needed to win. One of my favorite Huskies

Castle was a 20 point scorer in high school, bought in to the UConn system and became one of the best defenders in college basketball, won a ring, went top 5, won Rookie of the Year, and was in the NBA Finals in year 2. He will succeed everywhere he goes!

Jrue Holiday was an easy comp for him, though Jrue entered the league a more polished ball handler and decision maker. They're winning basketball players, first and foremost.

He was obviously a monster and talented. I also think winning and making a deep run in the tournament just gets you egnoleged. I've seen guys who may not be the most skilled get drafted just because they made a deep run and people knew their names.

Are the Rockets the best negotiating FO in the league? Are they consistently drafting players who are just sub-max contract level? … or did they create a system that suppresses offensive development that enables them to compete while getting young talent at a discount?

At a meet and greet at Delta Manor in Detroit, a resident asked me about the future of the city’s transit system. Detroiters – and all Michiganders – a REAL transit system to give you REAL choices in ways to get around. And we need a US Senator who will advocate for exactly that.

The Taoiseach and Tánaiste need to take responsibility for the chaos in the international protection system that is happening on their watch - a broken system, long delays, failure to enforce deportations, and massive profiteering in the provision of IPAS accommodation. We need a fair system where the public can have confidence that the rules are applied and enforced.

Kia Noir and Violet Myers are franchise players. Not role players. Not system fits. You build around them. They’re the type you give the max contract to and let them run the offense. Every team in the league wishes they had one.

Championship teams aren’t built on talent alone — they’re built on role clarity. Everyone on your team must know their role, embrace their role, and star in their role… and everyone else must value the contributions around them. This isn’t a small detail. It’s the linchpin — the foundation where organizational excellence begins. Get this puzzle piece right, and everything else elevates. 🔥 Watch the clip.

Ike and Spike discuss the idea that you don’t need an elite quarterback to win a Super Bowl. “Elite quarterbacks aren’t necessarily the ones winning Super Bowls. That doesn’t mean their talent isn’t elite, but it shows you don’t need one to win it all.”

Hans Niemann reveals that the best poker players sell their action so others can fund their buy-ins “There are a lot of poker websites where high-level players can sell their action. These guys don’t want to risk their bankroll. Let’s say you’re playing a game with a $5M buy-in. If you’re doing proper bankroll management and want to be +EV, you should have 100x that in cash. Most poker players source their action privately” “If I’m Phil Ivey and I want to play a game against Chinese billionaires, I’m going to sell my action to people who believe I’m going to win to derisk”

You can’t convince me that Joe Brady doesn’t want you to read between the lines here: “The biggest thing for me is you have to surround your system with the players that you have.” He didn’t have the receivers to be an elite passing offense and knew that. #BillsMafia

Amaya Battle on staying home to play for Minnesota and the legacy she left for other players from MN: “There's a ton of talent in Minnesota, and growing up watching the Gophers play in high school, a lot of talent would leave. There are some players that would stick around. So I think all of us from Minnesota who stuck around me show that you can leave a legacy here at home, and then kind of just make it cool to stay here again.”
