It's just as stupid to blame it on one thing

The way this Climate disaster is been reported greatly minimizes the magnitude of the catastrophe that is climate change. They (referring to the U.S.) have an excellent firefighting system, robust infrastructure, fire trucks, helicopters, fire-fighting planes, and so on—a system better than most, with early warning systems and, above all, a BUDGET. This isn't something unprecedented; they’ve experienced similar incidents in the past, meaning they have protocols and operational experience. Moreover, this time it didn’t affect marginalized neighborhoods but the highest-value real estate areas in California! And yet, this time it wasn’t enough! Every country, especially the poorest ones, should be absolutely terrified about what a REAL climate catastrophe implies. If the Americans got completely screwed over by something like this, imagine a city like Mexico City or Bogotá, surrounded by vegetation, but suffering from increasingly severe droughts and a water consumption rate that makes it impossible to supply the population. We’d be absolutely, irredeemably f***ed.
