And those fatter people have more health issues which becomes another bill for the tax payers and because they're obese they become lazy and never get a job... it's a vicious circle

A significant portion of the population doesn't understand the relationship between responsibility and authority. Authority comes from responsibility. If you can't or won't take responsibility for yourself and need someone else to take on some of that responsibility, some of your authority goes with it.

At least the girl sitting there listening. I believe from how he puts it across calmly, fairly, respectfully she'll take that onboard and develop her own more positive opinions too.

As someone that was on foodstamps for a bit after a work accident, I really never understood this entitlement meant. Meat and vegetables provided for you is plenty

A bigger problem, for me at least, is the fact a lot of our low income programs subsidize low wages for companies like Amazon and Walmart. Part of why they can pay what they pay is because their workers get government checks for being low wage earners. It should also be said that these mega corporations pushed out small businesses and/or increased American dependence on foreign (mostly Chinese) goods. I agree with the idea that there are serious problems with our welfare system, but it's more complicated than just saying the poor are lazy and shouldn't eat a diet of Doritos. (No one should eat a diet of Doritos.) We've built a system where perverse incentives exist on both sides of the rich/poor argument to perpetuate an unhealthy dynamic.

Easy fix! I have been saying this for years as I live in a poor community &many on welfare &see the shopping carts full of junk food. Simply only allow people to purchase what is on the WIC program, which is meant for women, infant, and children. All healthy food choices.🤔

Ok so what about the people that work and need a little extra help to get over. That money also comes out of their checks too. So tell them what to do with the money taken from their checks?

Except you assume everyone on EBT is able bodied and able to work. My dad is a disabled veteran he's not about to "work" he is bedridden.

This is what lefties love: do nothing and live off the others who work. That's under the banner of "equality" and "social justice." In reality it's a social and economic parasitism. Feminists up the ante: they do that to their men under the banner of "dismantling patriarchy."

Back in the day, WIC tightly controlled what you could and could not buy with food stamps. This was because the program was rife with abuse so they changed the rules on what and how you could buy with the stamps Apparently those guardrails have been gone for a long time.

Crowder is wrong. I am on SSI. I get SNAP. I paid into The System all my working life. Nobody has the right to tell me what I can and can't buy with MY benefits.

Snap does nothing but increase the price of groceries for everyone else companies know they can charge whatever they want for their products and the government will pay it the same as sec 8 landlords can change whatever they want and the government will pay it

I think the problem and disconnect comes from these idiot liberals not understanding how taxes work, they think the money comes from the government.

The menu should be pre-allotted healthy foods no garbage exceptions made for allergies The entire program should be modeled after WIC SNAP has been one of the worst decisions we've ever made as a society Wic as required purchases what can and can't be purchased what size it can be we need to move more in that direction

Most people don't know because the pay rate differs from state to state and food prices basically don't. People that work are on food stamps. It's income based not whether you work or not.

I agree with them mentality however I also don't agree with telling somebody to get a job when the United States bureau of Labor statistics which tracks available employment own numbers prove that there are less jobs than there are citizens so it's physically impossible

Quit saying that Soldiers pay for MREs. They do not. Soldiers who choose to eat at the dining facility for free do not get the beyond regular pay subsidy that those who buy their food get. It’s a choice many single Soldiers make to avoid having to cook for themselves. When Soldiers go to the field, either for training or otherwise, they are issued MREs. Not one pays an additional amount.
