Marlon & Shawn Wayans explain why they can’t be “cancelled” for doing whiteface in White Chicks or Damon Wayans playing a handicapped superhero on In Living Color 👀🔥 They also say they’re NOT offended by blackface in movies when it’s actually funny, like Tropic Thunder with Robert Downey Jr.

Ryan Davis Juxtaposes Robert Downey Jr.'s Blackface in Tropic Thunder with Druski’s Latest Whiteface Skit, thought he was Kenan Thompson at first 😏 Anyone born before 1985 didn't even bat an eye to this. This was pure comedy. When the movie came out more people were pissed at Ben Stiller doing the Simple Jack character than mad at RDJ. 🤦‍♀️ via TFU Podcast

Robert Downey Jr. says he didn’t want to be the first one down on Avengers: Doomsday Interviewer: Doctor Doom himself. Robert Downey Jr.: He’s coming. lGoing from project to project, one was a marathon, and this last Marvel film was very much like a series of sprints. It was really taxing physically because of the heavy costumes. I remember back in the past, we’d all be assembled in Atlanta. It’d be like 94 degrees and 88% humidity, and you’d think, “People are going to start passing out.” Interviewer: Yeah. Robert Downey Jr.: And this is a real fit bunch of folks. I didn’t want to be the first man down on Doomsday. I wanted to make sure I could withstand high pressure and exhausting action or dramatic scenarios, then quickly be able to cool down. The way we changed the program was really helpful.

Robert Downey Jr. explains why he almost turned down Tropic Thunder "Ben called and asked me to do this movie. I thought, 'Yeah, I'll do that after Iron Man.'" "Then I started thinking, 'This is a terrible idea.'" "I had to ask myself, 'Where is your heart?'" "I realized I wasn't trying to mock Black people. I was trying to hold up a mirror to the insane, self-involved hypocrisy of actors who think they're allowed to do anything." "Ben Stiller knew exactly what movie he was making. It was impossible to make it without people thinking it could become an offensive nightmare." "But 90% of my Black friends were like, 'Dude, that was great.'"

BLM would scorch the United States from coast to coast if this was a group of white people doing this to a black man. But it’s black people doing it to a black man. So it’s business as usual. Prove me wrong.

Tom Holland says he knew he got Spider-Man after auditioning with Robert Downey Jr. then Marvel made him wait six more weeks. “The audition process was horrible. It was like seven months.” “There was me and six other kids, and Downey was there. So we all tested with Downey.” “It’s the best audition I’ve ever done. Him and I were riffing off each other.” “I rang my mom afterwards and said, ‘Mom, I think I got it. That was the best audition I’ve ever done.’” “Then six weeks go by and I didn’t hear anything.”
