Stevie Ray Vaughan peforms “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” live at Austin City Limits, 1989. SRV always burned the candle at both ends. Then he started in on the middle. Jimi Hendrix would be proud. #StevieRayVaughan

Whole thing...

The greatest guitar player of all time.

Anyone from Dallas knows this is only partially true, he was better than Hendrix. He cleaned himself up and began taking his career seriously before it tragically ended. He is missed

At that point Clean and Sober at the Absolute TOP OF HIS GAME.His last concert ended with SRV and Eric Clapton trading licks back and forth for a hour.Bob Seger said it was the Greatest Guitar Hero moment EVER

Those strings were as thick as phone poles. What incredible tone!!

The entire performance on ACL is jaw dropping. I’ve rarely seen a performance as electrifying. Maybe Springsteen in ‘78. Larry Carleton said Stevie was “Praying through the guitar”. As close to a religious experience as music can get.

Great guitarist, maybe one of the greatest ever. This cover is better than Hendrix

Complete mastery of the instrument. One of the greatest to ever do it. Most have him as top 5 or top 10 of all time. Which makes him one of the most underrated players ever.

Greatest guitarist I ever saw, or heard for that matter.

That tone! Those strings! These clips! Definitely one of if not the best axe man of all time.
