It's crazy what time does to your memory. I still remember seeing screenshots of it and thinking it had the greatest graphics ever. Insane how things jumped.

Half Life 2 was the most recent OGXbox game i bought.

The Xbox GPU was slightly below a GeForce 4 Ti, a far cry from an impossible port and well within the PC specs. The main obstacles where RAM and streaming from DVD.

I wonder why they did not switch over development to the 360. It came out a year after the PC version an could have been a launch title.

The original Xbox had only 64mb of ram

Even more crazy how it runs today standalone with graphic mods inculded on standalone Quest

That must be an advanced version of Xbox because I could barely get 30 FPS when playing it.

2 great sequels came out in 2004

I did played this game back on his day. Was so ahead of its time in pretty much any aspect. Maybe because I was a kid, but didn’t pay attention to the performance. Amazing game.

Doom 3 port on the og Xbox is even more impressive I think.

Yes considering its Celeron CPU when if Microsoft didn't switch from AMD to Intel during Xbox development then Half Life 2 would have had ran better on Duron even if clocked 15% lower as it matched Pentium 3 per MHz. Switching to Intel compromised both security and performance.

Locura de que ? Fue bien adaptado a lo que podía ofrecer Xbox . Igual que Halo 2 a su estilo , o algún far cry y algunos mas....más o menos sacando gran parte de los que daban sus GPU y Cpu.

Kids at school convinced me to grab a PS2 as my next console for for GTA III and GTA:VC (GTA was a Sony exclusive at that point) and while I loved my PS2, I was so jealous that PS2 wasn't getting console ports of the big PC titles like Doom 3 or Half-Life 2.
