One of the coolest approaches to any city in America. Coming over the hill in Covington, KY before Cincinnati comes into view is super cool too.

I will never forget the first time I went through this tunnel. I had no idea the city was going to be right there in your face. Definitely one of the coolest drives in America.

I always wonder what is behind these doors.

when i was little my older brother told me if i could hold my breath all the way through the fort pitt tunnel i could make a wish and it’s so ingrained and automatic i didn’t realize i was holding my breath watching this until it was over lmao

Now do it at night so non-yinzers can really have their minds blown.

And then the panic if you aren’t going on 376 😜

Hubby and I love taking visitors through but at night, then up to Mount Washington. They’re always blown away at how beautiful it is here.

Hear me out… it’s a long tunnel

@bcuban Had 2 coworkers come to Pittsburgh for the first time last month. They were blown away by it.

get this vibe every time 😂

The magic tunnel! 💯

I'm from Canada and I remember having my mind blown the first time I did this drive!🤯 Pittsburgh is one of the most underrated cities in North America! Point State Park is really cool too!🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉

There’s no place like home! Our son’s girlfriend recently came to Pittsburgh for the 1st time. Flight came in at 8 pm. We had her sit in the front seat of the car on the way home from the airport to get the full effect. It is truly breathtaking.

The night view right after you exit the tunnel is simply magical.

One of Yoda's favorite parts of the trips from Dormont to Bloomfield to go to granma's house as a boy, that view as you come out of the Liberty Tubes. Nothing like it anywhere.

Yep... but once you get into daylight/open air it's a scrabble to get in your correct lane. It's a rush.

Sweet! Never fails….

Same!

Sorry I was too busy holding my breath to appreciate the view

Show this all the way from the airport to make it more dramatic... 2 minutes for a 10 second view is not enough.

Most epic entrance to a city. It’s given me goosebumps since I was a kid. ❤️

Nothing like it at night

You passed mile-marker 69 right before you entered the tunnel. NICE. 👍🏻

I travelled the US in 1996. The only thing I remember about Pittsburgh is getting out of this tunnel and there is this big city right in front of you. Was like the coolest thing.

What I love about Pittsburgh is how easy it is to get around the city. I stayed down town for 3 days this past summer for the U.S. open. People everywhere. Blew me away how easy it was still to move around the city for leisure and to travel to meals.

driving into Manhattan for the first time from Rockaway was mind blowing

Yep

Unintentionally one of the top 10 skylines in the world and totally unexpected when you enter the tunnel.

Love it at night. Magical.

me too ooohhhhhhh HOME 🤍

When I was a kid my grandparents lived in Pittsburgh and we lived 4 hrs away in Ohio. We’d take off at midnight when dad got home from work. I’d fall asleep but wake up when we entered the tunnel. Coming out, the view of the city at night was always so beautiful 😍

My son used to live in Pittsburgh and I have made that drive many times. Every single time I was just amazed how beautiful it was. It’s a wow moment.

@Steeler_girl58 Me too
