That is the catch of the episode. The ring runs on will, and the first time we see John's will wobble it is not for himself, it is Hal's mother. People keep calling him apathetic. Apathy does not lose a drill over somebody else's grief. That is integrity, which is what I said last night.

Nah, I don't think it's ION. Knowing what I know of the show. I don't think it's something we've seen 1 to 1. Maybe something akin to how Hal made his own ring. His will power is strong enough to keep a construct going? But why did it persist while he was unconscious? Will?

Unconscious is the part that kills the willpower answer. A construct held by will should die the second the will does. That is why I keep calling it the biggest anomaly in the series instead of a mystery with a shelf answer.

I think it has something to do with the lantern itself. I believe the lantern isn’t just a power source but another form of a.i upgraded from manhunters. The lantern uses the bird to get to know John’s character. Since the lantern is the ps it was easy to stay that way.

I think the car crash at the end of episode 4 is to see if he can save himself without the ring using the power of the ring. The same way the bird persisted.. #Lanterns

From a narrative perspective I think it’d be more congruent to introduce the yellow impurity and parallax and that can segue into the entity conversation before introducing Ion anyways.

I like Mr know it all but when I look at him I see a white black man and it kinda messes with the podcast for me so I just listen to him .

I think it's setting up that the Rings themelves are constructs and John will eventually figure out how to make them and use it to save the day in the climax. I think it'd tie up a lot of narrative threads in the show we've seen thus far.

Here is the REAL question no one is asking: When John manifested that 185lb dumbell - why didnt he just project it to manifest right next to where Hals foot was - rather than manifest it - then pick it up - then try and drop it near Hal’s foot while Hal tries to move away. 🤣
