Still, something about it seemed off… So I did a quick google search, and within a couple minutes I found this video of what appeared to be the same woman, with the exact same malady, experiencing the exact same miracle, only in a completely different setting.

I admit, at first blush it seemed like exactly the sort of thing atheists claim no one ever witnesses: a limb spontaneously regrowing, in real time, in response to prayer, and the whole thing is caught on camera. It’s a slam dunk, right?

How can you doubt that God works miracles when faced with evidence this compelling?? A few years back a Christian family member sent me this video and asked me that question.

And then, with a little more searching, I found that same scenario two more times, each time at the hands of a different preacher. This clearly wasn’t what it was being sold as.

So I shared that extra evidence with the family member who shared the first video with me… but they were unfazed.

As far as they were concerned, I was just burying my head in the sand and reaching for anything to explain away what was clear as day. It was a miracle, and I just couldn’t admit it because of the hardness of my heart.

I have since learned that the woman later came clean about the whole scam. “The 44-year-old affirmed that she was paid for ‘appearance’ in churches that specialized in miracle. In plain terms, she was invited to act and was paid a fee.”

And yet, despite the fact that the whole thing has been completely debunked, Christian content creators still reshare it and get thousands of views. The will to believe is hard to shake.

I think she should’ve at least worn a different dress for the second “miracle.” Another point in the Hume column.

That's nigerian churches and pastors for you. They are business oriented, so if u want to become rich in no time, just open and start displaying fake miracles that's all. Churches in nigeria are more or less like a mini HOLYWOOD
