He was from the start dude...😭 Man had our backs the moment we met.
What makes it even more sad is that E3N could’ve been retrieved and had his memory core put into a new body
It really was such a saddening death, and it's one that could've easily been avoided had they made a backup of his data and core memory restored in a new vessel as you logically put it. We know of 2 other robot companions that had a similar sacrifice:
The biggest mistake this game made was attaching “Call of Duty “ to its title.

What would’ve made it even sadder was if instead of Reyes being rescued, you continue the game as Salter and your first mission as her is to search for Reyes, only to find him dead and Ethan clinging to his body…
Playing it and seeing this scene made me tear up a bit
Likewise, one of the saddest Cod Deaths imo.
