Most DEs have a clipboard package already installed. Windows has clip.exe, Wayland has wl-copy and X11 has Xsel.

clipboard managers that sync across machines solve this without learning new commands, worth it once you have more than one box

osc52 or something else, ive had mixed luck with osc52 over ssh depending on the terminal

On x11 I just use xclip alias with the | I don't really know what the differences are, but its great for quality of life. alias copy='xclip -selection clipboard'
