My retirement fund isn’t a 401k or some ETF I don’t control. It’s a physical, curated collection of OG Call of Duty history. COD4. WaW. MW2 (2009). BO1. BO2. Steelbooks, collector’s editions, discs, promos, memorabilia — the era that built modern gaming culture. These games weren’t just releases, they were cultural events. Millions of kids grew up on them, and they’re now adults with money and nostalgia. Digital libraries can disappear. Servers shut down. Licenses expire. But physical OG COD doesn’t. Scarcity only increases. People laughed at Pokémon cards, retro consoles, and vintage games too… until they didn’t. I didn’t “miss the wave” — I was the wave. This isn’t hoarding, it’s preserving history. Worst case? I own the greatest era of gaming ever made. Best case? This is my retirement. 🎮🔥

The technology gap: Seventh generation (Older consoles like the PS3): HDMI sockets were mounted using Through-Hole Technology (THT). Pins and mechanical anchor tabs went straight through the entire mainboard and were soldered from the bottom.
