We will never be able to clean BA sets properly until all services provide stations with A- spare sets so we can use these when the dirty ones are being cleaned or are drying and B- The proper cleaning facilities to clean the sets, a brush and some soap isn’t enough.

It is fixable - entirely fixable and just needs the money to Implement a safe system. But it’s more affordable on the ever important fiscal balance sheet to allow firefighters to get ill and pass away due to their occupation exposure

Are you really suggesting firefighters clean and decontaminate PPE after every incident? London FF bag contaminated clothing when leaving the fireground are issued with clean decontaminated kit on return to the station Clean and maintained by a professional organisation

VCFD along with LA County Fire and CAL FIRE are on scene of a brush fire south of the 126 FWY, east of Piru. The fire is currently reported at 50 acres with a moderate rate of spread in medium fuels and located in steep terrain with difficult access. Firefighters are aggressively working from the air and ground to attack the fire. Multiple fixed wing aircraft and helicopters are assigned to the incident along with over 100 firefighters assigned to the incident. Evacuation warnings have been issued for areas east of Lake Piru to the Los Angeles County line. Residents are encouraged to follow for the latest updates on evacuations.

Why is it that every video or photo we see of these blankets being used, there’s often a severe lack of regard from many or all on scene for correct PPE and/or RPE? Here we see 4 people without BA, 2 with BA but not under air (so might as well not even have it on their back), and most don’t even have the correct PPE on. Before becoming FDNY firefighters, every probationary class makes one solemn journey. On Friday, our latest class of probationary firefighters visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in Manhattan—a tradition that connects every generation of firefighters to the 343 members of our Department who made the Supreme Sacrifice on September 11, 2001. This class carries special significance: Class 1 of 2026 is the final class of firefighters to make this visit and graduate from the Fire Academy before we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11. As they prepare to join the ranks of New York City's Bravest after graduation, they do so with a deeper understanding of the legacy they now carry and our enduring promise to Never Forget.

Even after what just happened with the Pacific Palisades fire, Democrats are still ignoring the Fire Department Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters say they have been ignored by mayor Karen Bass “It is 2026. We have the same amount of firefighters as we did in 1960 with the call volume 5 times greater We used to run 100,000 calls in 1960. We run over half a million calls a year now. The population has doubled between from 2 million to 4 million We cannot sustain giving the citizens what they need when they call 911 and responding in a timely manner. We should be responding within 4.5 minutes.
